We only kissed for about 4 seconds before I had to gently push him away to catch my breath.

"Reed.."

"I know." He whispered.

A few seconds later I grabbed his hand and pulled him up, gesturing him that we should leave.

Reed walked me to the car and started his engine.

"Can I take you home?"

I smiled and slammed the door shut. "I don't really have a choice, do I?"

Reed laughed as he pulled out of the parking lot. We didn't talk much on the ride to my house; mostly just snuck each other glances when the other wasn't looking.

I got to my house after dark. My mom must be worried sick.

Before I went inside, Reed grabbed me by the arm.
"Wait."

Startled, I looked at him.

"Are things going to be different tomorrow?"

I smiled and kissed him on the cheek."I hope so."

The lights were off when I walked into the house, so I thought my mom was asleep. But as always, I was wrong.

"Where have you been!?" My mom yelled hysterically. "The school called me and told me you SKIPPED CLASS. What the hell was that about?"

I stared at my mom for a few seconds before responding.

"I was out with Reed,"I blurted out. "He said he wanted to show me something, but I thought it was gonna be something quick! So things got a little out of hand."

My mom glared at me angrily. "Well, where'd you go? Was it far away?"

I sighed in frustration . "We went to a factory, Reed's dad used to work there. It's about an hour and a half away."

My mom sighed in response. "Go sleep. We'll talk more in the morning."

I nodded and made my way to my room. Collapsing on my bed, a grabbed my phone and texted Reed.

Me: Thanks for today.

As I drifted off to sleep, my phone chimed.

Reed: My pleasure, Cally.
