I got up in the morning and quickly put on some jeans and a t-shirt. As I made my way to the kitchen, my mind wandered back to yesterday's conversation on the phone.

Well, I was right. I genuinely felt better now that I had some time to think. If Reed thought something was important, he'd tell me. I trusted him.

My mom woke up a few minutes later, and made herself a coffee. A quickly gave her a kiss on the cheek and then hopped into the Toyota. As I started to pull out of the driveway, my phone rang.

It was Reed.

I answered the call tentatively.
"Hey, cutie."

Reed chuckled softly. "Cutie? I'm not cute. I'm hot."

My body relaxed. Somehow I thought he'd be angry.

"Right," I said rolling my eyes, "Hot."

Reed laughed again and then paused for a moment. "About the other night."

I froze. "Yeah?"

"I shouldn't have talked to you like that. I'm sorry. I'll make it up to you, I promise. We can go wherever you want."

I sighed as I started to arrive at school. A smile tugged on my lips. "What are you suggesting?"

I could practically see Reed grinning. "How 'bout I take you out to dinner?"

I grabbed a strand of my hair and twirled it around my finger. "Reed," I teased, "are you asking me out on a date?"

Reed chuckled. "I guess I am."

I parked my car, and shut the door behind me. "Pick me up at eight?"

"Sure thing."

I smiled and hung up.

As I walked over to the front of the school, a few people looked my way and waved at me.  It seemed as if everyone suddenly knew who I was.

Maybe they'd done this before, and  I just hadn't noticed. But something had definitely changed ever since Reed and I admitted our feelings for each other.

As I got to the front entrance, Reed, (as always) was waiting for me. "Hey Cal."

I smirked and gave him a hug. As he embraced me in his arms, I asked him where we were going later.

Reed put his hands into his pocket and started walking towards our first period class. "It's a surprise."

I looked at Reed accusingly. "You have to tell me where we're going. I need to know what I'm going to wear."

"Wear whatever you want. It doesn't matter."

I shot him a deadly glare. "OK then, I'm going to wear yoga pants and a sports bra."

Reed chuckled slightly. "Fine by me."

I playfully punched him in the shoulder. "No seriously, what should I wear."

"I don't know," he said with a pause, "wear something casual."

I sighed and entered my Chemistry room. Thankfully Reed was also in this class, so it wasn't so bad.

After I finished my classwork, I grabbed my phone and looked for Reed's number.

Me: Are you done?

A few seconds later my phone buzzed.

Him: Texting during class? Who are you, and what have you done with Cally?

I smiled to myself.
Me: Shut up! Besides, she doesn't even know I'm using my phone.

Him: I'm pretty sure she does. Nobody just randomly looks at their crotch and smiles.

I stifled a laugh. Dumbass
