My own sobs woke me up.
I wiped my eyes; breathing heavily as I calmed down from my previous nightmare . It was a dream. It was all a stupid dream.

I got up and made my bed. There was no way in hell that I was going back to sleep. My hands still shook from what Reed had said; I needed to clear my mind.

I think it's time for one of my midnight walks.

My hands touched the window steadily. I shook my head as I suppressed thinking about Reed. Opening my window, I climbed down a tree and hit the ground with a loud thump.
Please don't let Mom hear me.

As I walked across the lawn,  I fished out my phone. Should I text Reed? I didn't want to come off as clingy or any thing, but this "I can't tell you" stuff, was driving me insane.

I took the same route that I always did.

The park was old. I remember I used to come here when I was little, along with my mom and some family friends. We'd play for hours until I'd beg Mom to buy me something to eat. It used to be full of kids.

Now it was a dump.

It had faded away with the years, the swing set was rusty, and the slides moldy and coated with a thick layer of dirt. Kids had taken a sudden interest on other things, like playing video games, or watching their favorite TV show.

Most of the time I'd come here to think, but today, I wanted to do the complete opposite.

I laid down on the dry grass and looked up to the sky. I always liked the sky, but the moon was so much prettier. There was something about the night that calmed me. I could stay completely still for long periods of time, my thoughts silencing as I'd take in my surroundings.

Taking a deep breath, I ran a sweaty hand through my messy hair.
Breathe Cally, Breathe.

The sound of distant cars lulled me to sleep, beckoning me to close my eyes and just forget about everything... I fluttered my eyes open and checked the time. 1:45. Time to go home.

••••••••

Scraping my sneakers against the rocky surface of the street, I walked up to the side of the house and approached the tree from which I had previously slid off of.

I placed my foot in one of the tree's hollows, and hoisted myself up until I reached my window. As I slipped inside, my bedroom door gave a loud creak.

I threw myself in the bed, pretending to be asleep.

"Meow."

I exhaled heavily and sat up. "Ginger, silly cat, you scared me."

I smiled and picked her up. "Come here, you can sleep with me tonight."

Giving her a soft pat, and placing her beside me, I rested my head on my pillow.

It was decided. From now on, there was no more goody-two shoes.

Tomorrow, I was going to demand some answers.
