ok all of these are sad as hell but its how i write best since its what i feel y'know? well anyways heres a slightly less sad one to make up for it love u all

i found myself at josh's house once again. my house wasn't a great place to stay, much less a place to grow up. most houses are filled with knick-knacks and family photos, decorations and is generally a warm place. that's what makes it home. my house, though, was just a house, filled with expensive antiques and a hateful atmosphere. i did whatever i could to get out of there, and my favorite place to go was to hang out with my best friend.
after talking for a while, the sky grew dark as we grew tired. it was only 9pm, so instead of heading right to bed we decided to watch a movie first. i sat on the edge of the bed, about to give up on scrolling through netflix until something caught my eye. The Fox and the Hound, i read out loud. the movie was perfect. josh agreed that it'd be cool to watch, so i clicked it and laid down next to josh.
we watched the movie in a comfortable silence until the climax. this part always made me cry as the characters fought. keeping my eyes on the television, i curled up to josh as tears started to form in my eyes. i wasn't scared of him thinking of it weird; we had a close relationship that we managed to keep platonic. it was nice. in response, josh wrapped his arm around me, and i relaxed right away.
we stayed like this until the end of the movie. platonic or not, i enjoyed it. i felt warm inside. happy.
"josh?" i asked, my voice quiet.
"yeah?" josh replied, looking down at me.
"i feel like i'm home."
