this is literally a bromance but its what im in the mood for writing so it should be good here we go

"josh, i miss you," tyler whined. the two had just gotten off tour the day before and had a three week break. josh spent one night at tyler and jenna's house, but already was on the way to the airport for l.a.
"i'm sorry, ty," josh said apologetically. "wish i could be there."
you could be here if you really wanted to, tyler thought to himself. sure, he was clingy, but he really didn't like josh's l.a. friends. he was worried sick since they always took josh out to drink and party and stuff. it was josh's life and his decisions on what to do, but tyler couldn't help but to be concerned. plus, if something were to happen to josh, tyler would be across the entire country and unable to get help for him, and his drunk friends wouldn't be any more of a help.
"will you call me when you get off the flight?" tyler asked.
"of course i will, tyler, don't be so clingy."
"okay," tyler responded, obviously upset. the comment about him being clingy, and not saying he missed tyler back made him feel like he wasn't josh's priority. it sounded selfish, but he'd just grown used to it. they were the best friends that they could be, along with jenna making enough people for tyler not to be isolated. so, tyler hung up. he turned his phone off, knowing josh was going to be on his flight soon anyways and it'd take a good amount of time before he could actually call in l.a. he returned from his living room to his room, grabbing a random notebook and a pen and starting to write.
-
"hey tyler, do you think you could come somewhere with me?" jenna asked. "i need to show you something. you'll have to get ready."
"tyler looked away from his notebook and up at jenna, seeing from the look on her face that it was important. he got up, planting a quick kiss on his wife's cheek. "what is it?"
"you'll see when we get there," jenna said with a smirk. "you don't have to dress nice, but look at least sort-of presentable," she suggested, pushing his hair back to make it look a little nicer.
with that, tyler changed into some black skinny jeans, a band shirt, and a pair of converse. it was chilly out, but not ridiculously cold for january, so tyler slipped on a light coat and met jenna in the living room. she was texting someone, but he didn't bother to ask. "ready to go?" she asked, locking her phone and standing up. tyler confirmed and they left for this mysterious thing jenna wanted tyler to see.
tyler found himself in the passenger seat of his wife's car, parked in the driveway of his mom's house. the street seemed suspiciously full of cars for a monday evening. with a huge grin on her face, jenna led tyler to the front door. she opened it slowly, without knocking, to reveal a dark and empty-looking house. if he wasn't mistaken, he heard a hushed whisper and then a "shh" sound. confused, he walked into his childhood home. suddenly, the lights turned on, and tyler was greeted with smiling faces and a ruckus of noise.
"surprise!" a crowd shouted. in the front was josh and tyler's parents, and they were surrounded by tyler's family and friends. once the noise calmed down, tyler stepped forwards to hug josh and his parents.
"whats this all for?" tyler asked, happy and excited but confused.
"well, it's kind of a welcome home, and a congratulations on the tour, and a general tyler joseph appreciation," josh explained his best with kelly and chris chiming in.
"i thought you were leaving for california again?" tyler asked, still not completely comprehending what just happened.
"i'd miss you too much," josh said with a smile, now giving tyler an individual bear hug as opposed to the group hug that'd just happened.
"i love you," tyler said.
"love you too, ty," josh replied.
the rest of the night consisted of everything a cheesy family party would. there was good food, board games, and a movie on the television. tyler had a good time at a party for once, as this time there wasn't blaring music or drunk teens and he was close with every person in the house. with josh home and safe and being with his family and chatting with old friends he hasn't seen due to their touring, tyler was happy.
