Chapter 19

Camila's POV

After lunch Lauren and I go for a walk by the lake. While doing so we just talk about random experiences and memories. Lauren stops and drops to the floor. She stops moving, I drop to the floor to check her breathing and pulse. Her pulse is low and her breathing is irregular. I was lucky enough to have Chiron pass us. I shout his name and he sees us. He rushes towards us.
"What happened?" He asks.
"She just dropped to the floor, we were fine before this happened and when she dropped to the floor her pulse slowed and her breaths are irregular." I say worried.
"Come on we have to take her to the infirmary." Chiron says lifting her. "Hop on my back it's faster." He says and I do as told.

We rush to the infirmary and once inside Chiron places Lauren on a bed. The nurse rushes to her and starts to check her pulse, breathing and blood pressure. Chiron must of told some of the Gods because suddenly Aphrodite and Hades come rushing into the infirmary.
"Camila are you okay?" My mom asks.
"I'm fine but I have no clue when it comes to Lauren." I say.
"We're you with her when this happened?" Hades asks.
"I've been with her the whole day." I answer and Hades nods his head.
"Will you promise me that you will stay here till she wakes up?" He asks.
"Of Course, I love her sir and will always stick by her." I say and he nods.

The doctor and nurse walks in.
"I'm sorry but Lauren doesn't have long to live maybe a day or two." The doctor says and I burst into tears.
"No I will not witness my daughter dying yet, there must be something we can do?" Hades asks.
"I'm sorry there is not. There is a poison in her that is doing the damage. We have only seen this poison once before and the victim did not live." The nurse says.
"What about the Golden Fleece? Don't we still possess it?" I ask.
"Yes and believe me we have tried that and it didn't work. We are so sorry but there is nothing we can do." The doctor says and then leaves.
"So I've only got one to two days left with the love of my life." I say and have tears pouring down my face.
"I'm afraid so Mila." Chiron says.
"How did the poison even get in her system?" I ask.
"That's why I'm here." Hades starts. "Kronos said that someone who I love will die because when he possessed Poseidon this person figured it was him and that by seeing him that they would die. When Zeus came to me with my father he said it was Lauren who figured it was Kronos who was in our brother." Hades says with a tear running down his cheek. "I may have been the worst father ever but I did love her and still do love her." He finishes.
"We understand Hay." Says my mother.
"May I be alone with Lauren please?" I ask.
"Sure." They says and walk out of the room. I rest my head on Lauren's chest which wakes her up.

"Camz?" Lauren asks.
"Hey your awake." I say and she nods weakly.
"Why are you crying, it's not like I'm going to die." She says which causes me to pour more tears.
"Hey what did I say about crying." Lauren says.
"Lauren you say your not going to die but I know for a fact that you only have a couple days to live, this is all Kronos' fault." I say and Lauren looks shocked.
"Only a couple of days left with you?" Lauren asks and I nod my head.
"It's funny because at the lake I was going to ask you a question." Lauren says weakly.
"What did you want to ask me?" I ask.
"Camila I know it's only been seven months but your the love of my life and I want to spend the rest of my life with you, now that may only be a few days but none of the less I still love you an will always love you. Camzi will you marry me?" Lauren asks.
"Yes of course a million time yes Lauren." I say and kiss her sweetly. We pull apart and she places the most beautiful ring upon my finger.
"Now you know you'll always be mine and I'll always be yours." Lauren says.

Suddenly Lauren looses consciousness and her monitors are going off the charts then everything goes flatline.
"Help we need a doctor." I say. The doctors rush in and check her pulse.
"I sorry ms Cabello but Lauren is dead. I'm so sorry for your loss." Says the doctor and walks out.
I burst into tears and Hades walks in also crying probably to say goodbye to his daughter.
"What did she say?" He asks.
"She asked me to marry her and I... I said yes." I say and he embraces me in a tight hug.
"I'm so sorry Mila, I know she loved you and you love her." Hades says and I show no emotion.
"I think I'm going to go to my cabin, please if you would excuse me and sir I'm sorry for your loss." I say and walk off before he replies.

I walk into my cabin and everyone says hi not realising what just happened. Demi walks in with Ally in hand, she notices my hand.
"Hey Mila congrats." She says and I just burst into tears. They hold me.
"Mila what's wrong and where is Lauren?" Ally asks.
"There was an accident, Lauren was in the infirmary. She asked me to marry her I said yes and then she dies right in front of me." I say with no emotion and Ally and Demi are in shock.
"They are having the funeral tomorrow and your invited." I say and walk to my room shrugging them off me and walking away.

Once in my room I burst into tears as I see her clothes scattered around the room. I put on Lauren's favourite The 1975 jumper and sit on my bed with tears streaming down my face.
You died so young Lauren and I love you....
