Chapter 6: The Fate of

the Alliance.

POV: Ben.

I walked down the wet street into a pub. I nodded to a few men who yelled my name and waved. I laughed and walked toward the black steel door located in the back of the bar.

A large man answered the door. I looked at him and smiled. He smiled back.

“Is Tony here tonight?” I asked putting my hands in my pockets.

He stepped back and let me enter the room. I walked down a dimly lit hall way to another steel door and pushed it open. Tony sat at a table with four other men.

He looked up at me and a cheesy smile spread across his face. He flicked two black poker chips.

“Will you be playing with us tonight?” Tony asked.

I shook my head.

“No, you know how ballsy I get when I drink.” I said.

The men all chuckled and nodded.

“Well that’s what makes it more fun for the rest of us!” Tony noted.

I smiled and waved him off.

“No, Tony tonight I am here on business, not pleasure.” I said sternly.

He smiled and nodded.

“I see, well why don’t you step out to the bar and buy a drink and I’ll talk to you soon.” He said laying down his winning hand.

I nodded.

I stepped out into the bar. It smelled like stale cigarettes, and cheap liquor. The bar tender stepped over to me.

“What can I get ye lad?” The old man asked.

I smiled.

“Give me a jack and coke on ice.” I ordered.

He smiled and nodded.

“No Ale, with the boys tonight?” He asked.

“No Rodger, I am here on business tonight.” I said gravely.

Rodger nodded and put down my drink.

I took a sip and felt two small but familiar hands run up my back. I smiled to myself as they trailed up my neck and covered my eyes. A familiar voice whispered in my ear.

“Guess who?” A soft voice asked.

I chuckled

“It’s so nice to see you again Aislinn!” I say in reply.

I feel her smile against my neck.

“No, it is good to see you Ben.” She noted.

I turn around on my bar stool and grabbed her wrist and removed her hands from my eyes. She looked as beautiful as ever.

She had long brown hair, it was pulled back in a pony tail but still reached down to her elbows. She had emerald green eyes that shined when she beamed at me. Her skin was porcelain white, she always wore a beautiful red blush on her cheeks. Her lips were pink and inviting, and always a purple rosary around her neck.  I took her hand in mine.

“Please join me for a drink?” I asked.

She smiled and nodded. She sat down on the stool beside me.

“So how is your family” She asked as I ordered her a drink.

I smiled at her attempt to make small talk.
