This chapter is a little short. But it was needed. Plus and in my defense it was longer on Word :P

Chapter 10: You ARE my Mate

POV: Carson.

She tensed and pushed me away from her.

“You know what, every time someone has said to keep a open mind. It is always something that I don’t want to hear. Please Carson, prove me wrong.” She pleaded looking at me.

I sighed. I was hoping I would have at least one more night with her before I had to tell her. This wasn’t going to go good. I couldn’t help but smile at the way her lips puckered with she was mad.

“Why are you smiling?” She screamed.

I shook my head.

“Sorry, your right.” I nodded, wiping the smile off my face.

“Carson..” she started sighing.

I shook my head.

“Riley, I love you more than anything! I would give my life ten times over for you. I will never look at another woman the way I look at you! You have changed my life! I can’t live without you. I know I should’ve asked you first and I went against normal protocol but I mated you.” I said in one breath.

I had been practicing that speech over and over in my head; hoping with everything in me that she would somehow be okay with everything.

“You what?” She asked.

I could already tell she was pissed to no end. I sighed, of course Carson you messed up again. Fate was really toying with me. Her jaw clinched as she stepped out of the shower. She slipped and ended up falling backward on the tile floor. I quickly turned of the shower and got out to help her to her feet. She snatched her hand away from me and fell again. I smirked as she got to her feet on her own. She snatched a towel off the towel rack and wrapped it around her body.

“Suddenly embarrassed to let me see you naked?” I asked annoyed.

She huffed and stormed out of the bathroom.

“Look Riley, I love you, you love me. Why are you making this difficult?” I asked not bothering to get a towel.

She glared at me.

“No, Carson. If you loved me, you would’ve given me a choice!” She said looking around for her clothes.

I leaned in the doorway.

“They aren’t here.” I said.

She glared at me.

“Where are they?” She asked.

I chuckled and pointed to a pile of ripped clothes. She gasped and looked at me.

“I’m glad you find this so amusing.” She said sadly.

I frowned and walked over to my dresser. I pulled out a pair of boxer shorts and a white t-shirt. I handed them to her. She frowned and took them. I walked across the room and pulled her bra off the door nob, and handed it to her. She took it from me. She looked into my eyes.

“Riley…..” I started.

She shook her head.

“It doesn’t matter Carson. I am not your mate. This was all just a mistake. Once this is all over I’ll go home and we can pretend it never happened.” She said.

I growled.

“It doesn’t work like that Riley!” I said raising my voice.

She flinched.
