My eyes snapped open from a deep and dreamless sleep and saw a face looming a few feet over mine.
"Children like you don't belong in the forest," the boy said calmly stepping back from me. I sat up and slowly backed away from the boy observing him. He looked no older than me, just with worse weathered skin and way skinnier. I didn't understand why he had referred to me as 'child'.
"W-who are you?" I just barely managed to talk from a dry throat and mouth. He looked at me obviously considering whether to tell me or not.
"Who I am doesn't matter right now. They could be looking for you. You must come with me," he spoke partly rushed.
I looked around the area, realizing I actually was in the middle of the forest, it was raining gently on the fallen leaves. Some leaves were stuck in my hair I noticed, but I had no intentions of removing them anytime soon.
I tried remembering when and how I got there. Nothing was coming to mind. As a matter of fact, my mind was blank. I could only recall anything from the point I opened my eyes.
It made me uncomfortable thinking someone was looking for me, but I didn't like the idea of going with someone who was standing over me when I woke up.
He looked at me with a serious face. "You need to come with me." he spoke more rushed this time and I noticed him looking around frantically.
"Who is they?" I asked.
"Doesn't matter. Now get off the ground and come with me to the camp."
I stayed seated on the ground looking around more. I couldn't see much from the line beyond the trees of the clearing, and I didn't know how someone else could see into the clearing. I still couldn't remember anything else, and I did not like that. I wanted to know why I was here and who brought me.
I stood from the spot I was taking a deep breath, trusting myself to trust him.
"Fine. Take me with you," I spoke slightly hesitantly. I saw his face slightly relax from his tense expression. He nodded his head towards a small break in the trees and started walking. I followed, wondering if I had chosen the right thing to do.((PLEASE. I NEED TO KNOW IF THIS SHOULD BE AN ACTUAL STORY))
