I was walking down the street, minding my own business. I had my books in my hand and my backpack strapped across my shoulder. It was all fine. Traffic was normal for this time of day. I continued walking, observing everything I could.
But I noticed a slight change suddenly. The air seemed tense. I looked across the street where a pedestrian was pushing his bike beside him while crossing the road. Seemed normal enough. But then I noticed a car speeding way to much, zig-zaging all over the road.
I bit my lip and paused, then saw the car making a straighter line, directly to the boy with the bike. I thew all my things to the ground at the sidewalk running as fast as I possibly could, my arms outstretched for a reason even myself was unsure of. I was running straight for death.
I clenched my eyes shut as I kept running for the boy, reaching him seconds before the car would have reached him. There was a bright flash nearly a millisecond before impact. Then, nothing happened, and the light faded. Opening my eyes, I realized we were on the complete opposite side of the light, and on the sidewalk nonetheless. I couldn't find an acceptable explanation for it, and magik wasn't an option. The boy kept looking from himself to me in awe, and I was pretty amazed myself.
I nodded the next time he looked back at me and I ran back to the spot where I had thrown my stuff and gathered it up. Sighing, I continued on my way back home.
"Fantastic job you did there, young lady."
I jumped and spun around on my heals, startled by the voice.
"Who are you..?" I asked in the quiet voice I always used around people I didn't know. The man smiled at me and looked back to a bush, nodding. Another person came out from hiding.
"Ah, Miss Victoria. I see you have discovered an ability," the second person, a lady this time, spoke calmly as if they knew me perfectly. And, as far as I know, they don't.
"How... How do you know my name..?" my voice was stronger and more confident now, though I was still really freaked out after what had just happened.
"Oh it simple, Miss Victoria," the man this time, "We know all possible Guardians names." Guardians? What in the world was that supposed to mean? I nodded my head as if I understood. They both smiled. It was getting really weird and I had absolutely no idea what was going on. "If you haven't noticed yet," the he continued, "we've been keeping an eye on you." Now that was just creepy.
"And how exactly do you know who I am? Aside from you stalking me?" I noticed my voice sounded extremely irritated and aggressive. Oops. "And what exactly is a guardian? What's that supposed to mean? I'm nothing special." I was rambling now, a really bad habit of mine when I got upset. "I'm a normal person. Just like that boy." I looked back in the direction I saw him walk off in. "Speaking of him-"
"Miss Victoria," the lady interrupted me, "calm down please. We assumed as much that you'd have many questions. Please, come with us."

(I believe I shall end this one here)
