She ran to the limp body in the distance. She kneeled down and proped them up in her arms.
"No, you can't leave me, not now," she managed to say through sobs. The person stired, and opened their eyes. When they saw who was holding them, they smiled.
"It'll be ok, Lilith, it'll be ok." They winced in pain.
"No, please," Lilith cried.
"Lilith," they said gently, moving their hand to her face, "remember the story I would tell you? About the dragon? Heh, think about those times. I'll be ok," they coughed violently, "I'll be back soon. Just you wait." With a twinkle in their eye, and a smile on their face, they stopped breathing, and were at peace. Lilith bent over the body and sobbed. But then the body was gone. In its place lay a small pendant necklace with the words "Remember the Dragon's Promise" inscribed on it. And with that, Lilith put it on and rose, waiting for the day they would return.
