The seemingly lifeless body of the girl was tossed aside. No longer was she a threat. A familiar face now distorted with worry ran over to check for a pulse from the girl. Nothing. This worried them even more. If she was dead, the one they considered the villain won. Standing up and facing the other bystanders, the shook their head sadly. There were some quiet gasps, a compressed sob or two, but mostly a sad and sickening silence. What they knew as the villain had succeeded, he had won. He had left the room but he had won. All were about to turn away and explain the situation to others, but they were stopped by a sudden mechanical whirring coming from where the girl lay. Slowly and jerkily she began to sit up. She looked around confused. She blinked quickly several times. The crowd noticed that her eyes were not the same familiar green they had known. Now they were a glowing red. Or were they blue? They flashed between the two colors constantly.
