Chapter 24: So Nice to Meet You

[[ Dean P.O.V. ]]

After an hour and a half of driving, with Elena and Sam asleep the entire time, we finally get to the neighborhood that has the mansion in it that we're supposed to meet Garth at. I feel the nervousness in the pit of my stomach growing and I look at Elena through the rear view mirror. There is no way that she's a vamp. Even if she was, she wouldn't be so cruel and evil. It's not in her, I know it isn't. But Sam is right, we can't take any chances. Despite my feelings, we have to deal with this like we would anything else. She looks so beautiful as she peacefully sleeps...I feel so guilty for setting her up like this but it's what we have to do.

I look at the road ahead of me and realize how close we are. "Alright...everyone wake up. We're almost there." I say loudly, waking Sam and Elena. Elena stretches as she wakes up, yawning. "Wait, what exactly are we doing here again?" Elena asks. "Um...We—We're meeting Garth here to talk about the vamp case he has for us around here." I say, stuttering. She gives me a little bit of a suspicious looks.  "And does he normally meet up in neighborhoods filled with million-dollar homes?"  She questions.  I narrow my brows, "You know, now that I think of it...never."  I even begin to wonder what is really planned and why we're meeting in such a nice place. She turns, looking out the window.

I have a feeling that she knows something must be up but she's choosing to ignore it. I mean technically I'm not lying to her, that is what we're doing. Sam looks over at me and nods, reassuring me that things will be okay. I take a deep breath and take a turn, turning onto the street with the big white mansion at the end.  "Damn, that's a big home."  Elena says, laughing slightly.  Sam and I kind of stay silent, not responding.  She quickly turns her head and looks at both Sam and I.  "Geeze what is wrong with you two?  You're sketching me out...Is something up that I don't know about?"  She asks.  Great.  Now I've got to lie to her even more.  "Nope."  I say as I pull into the huge driveway of the mansion.  "Here we are."  Sam says, looking up at the mansion through the front window of the car. 

We all get out of the car and slam our doors.  I have such a weird and worried feeling about this.  We all reluctantly walk up to the front door.  I go to knock, but the door is already cracked open.  I narrow my brows, a little confused.  I look back at Sam and Elena.  "That's weird..."  Sam says.  I nod in agreement.  I place two fingers on the door and lightly push it open.  We all walk inside slowly, looking all around us.  The place is huge.  Everything is pretty much all white, except for the wooden floors.  There's a huge chandelier above us just before the giant stairway.  "Wow that's so pretty."  Elena says as she looks up at it.

[[ Elena P.O.V. ]]

"Garth?  Garth.  Hey man, where are you?  We're here!"  Sam yells.  His loud voice makes a sort of echoing voice through the huge house.  We all wait for an answer and get nothing.  "Garth?"  Dean yells.  I look over at Sam and Dean who begin to look concerned.  "Okay, something isn't right."  Sam starts to whisper.  Dean pulls out his gun and aims in front of him.  "There's no point in whispering Sam we've already yelled.  If someone's here they already know it."  He says as he slowly begins to walk around the mansion, looking for Garth. 

Sam pulls out his gun and follows closely behind Dean, and so do I.  "Let's split up."  Sam says as he walks the opposite way.  "Elena, stay with me."  Dean says protectively as he continues to walk in front of me.  I lightly grab onto the back of Dean's shirt, following behind him.  "Garth?"  Dean yells again as we begin to look through all the rooms.

Sam checks rooms on the other side of the stairway. We don't seem to be finding anything or anyone. "Where the hell is Garth?" Dean says worriedly as we walk down a hallway. "Dean. Give me your spare gun, I'll go look in the rooms back that way." I say as I stop him. Dean looks at me and slowly shakes his head. Of course, as usual, Dean is going to fight me on this. "Elena, no I don't want anything to happen to you." I shake my head also, sticking up for myself. "Dean, c'mon I'll be fine I promise. I saved you last time, remember?  You know I can defend myself." I argue. He rolls his eyes, giving in. He pulls out his spare gun and hands it to me. "Alright fine. But please, please be careful. Scream if you need me, and I mean it." He says. I take the gun out of his hands. "I will I promise." I give him a reassuring smile. We separate.
