I slowly wake up to the noise of Sam and Dean arguing about which place to eat. The music is quieter and the car is bumpy. The impala roars quietly.
I groan as my eyes begin to open and I raise my hand to my head where my wound is. My head is throbbing. Looks like the ibuprofen wore off.
I look around and notice it's already a little later in the day. "Dammit Dean you always want burgers. Can we please eat somewhere healthy for once? I'd really like a salad or something." Sam yells. "Dude are you crazy? Who can eat leaves as their meal and get full on that? That's rabbit food. Burgers and beer, that's what we're gonna get." Dean yells back.
"You always pick where we eat, it's my turn." Sam argues. "Yeah you're right I always pick because I'm the driver and I'm the older brother. It's always gonna be my turn." Dean turns the car into the parking lot of a nice little restaurant. It's slightly crowded but it seems like a good place to eat.
"This is such bullshit." Sam whines. I purse my lips and raise a brow. Wow, they are actual children.
"How long have I been asleep?" I finally speak up in a scratchy, tired voice. Their expressions and tones change quickly as they realize I'm awake.
"You've been out for about 4 hours, little lady." Dean says as he looks at his watch. Sam turns toward me and realizes I'm in pain. "Your head hurting again already?" He asks. I take my hair out of my ponytail and run my hand through it. "A little." I nod as I carefully touch my wound. I wince as my fingertips meet my skin. "Well usually you take ibuprofen every 4-6 hours. So I guess when we get inside you can take some more." He smiles reassuringly. I nod.
Dean parks the car. "Okay gang, let's go eat." He says excitedly. Sam rolls his eyes at Deans excitement. I've honestly never met anyone who gets so excited about food in my life.
We all get out of the car and make our way to the entrance. When we get there, there's a big crowd of people in front. It's loud, there's so many people all taking at one time. Sam walks in front of me and Dean behind me. "Excuse me, sorry." Sam says as he tries to push through the crowd, making way for us to come through. I feel Dean softly put his hand on my lower back, guiding me through the crowd. I get goosebumps. It surprises me, but I don't stop him.
Once we get a booth, Sam and Dean sit down on one side while I sit on the other. Dean orders a burger with fries; and a beer of course.
Sam orders himself a turkey burger with a side salad. I order a fried chicken sandwich with fries, and a beer. I decide I deserve a drink. I'm only drinking a little though, since I took more ibuprofen. One beer, that's it.
"So, you like beer?" Dean asks as he eats his fries. I look over at him and begin to laugh, "Yeah? Is that weird or something?"
Dean just kinda laughs at me, "I mean it's definitely not weird. It's awesome." Sam rolls his eyes as he takes a bite of his turkey burger. "Dean has this weird thing where he thinks it's cool if a girl can eat a burger and drink a beer." Sam says while chewing up his food. Dean shrugs, "What? It is cool." I just laugh as I eat my food. I look around the restaurant and notice a cop speaking with a woman. As he talks to her, he writes things down on a note pad.
"Hey look over there." I say to Sam and Dean as I casually point. "Is he questioning her?" Sam asks. Dean slowly nods as he takes a big bite out of his burger. "Looks like it. That reminds me, we should probably head to the crime scene soon to check things out." He says, downing the rest of his beer. I give him a confused look. "How? You can't just walk into a crime scene." I chuckle.
