Chapter 27: No Answer

I slowly wake up to the smell of coffee and sausage.  I open my eyes and sit up.  Dean's still asleep, his arms lay over top of me.  I rub my eyes slightly and look over at Sam and Garth who now have giant puffy jackets on and knitted hats.  They both have cups of coffee and some kind of sausage food.

They're both literally in the same exact spots that I last saw them in before falling asleep last night. Wow.  "Did you guys sleep at all last night?"  I ask.  Garth looks over at me, his eyes bloodshot.  He definitely got no sleep last night.  "Uhh, nope.  We stayed up all night gettin' new info."  Garth says to me in a hyperactive voice as he takes a huge gulp of his coffee.  Oh, wow, so he didn't sleep at all and now he's hyped up on coffee. "Oh and by the way, we got you and Dean coffee and sausage biscuits like us.  We also got you guys some warmer clothes.  We have to head to that house today and the woods.  It's gonna be cold as hell considering there's four inches of snow on the ground."  Garth's words are moving so fast it's almost difficult for me to keep up with him. I raise my brows as he says this, "Four inches of snow?  Oh my gosh!"  I'm actually excited about the snow.  I loved snow as a kid and I still do now.  It's so much prettier than rain and I have some pretty fun memories with it.  "Yeah it's gonna be a little hard to do our job today."  Sam says, laughing.  "Come over here so we can fill you in."  I nod, looking over at Dean.  He looks so peaceful when he sleeps. I carefully pick up his arms and move them off of me, trying my hardest not to wake him.  I get out of bed slowly and walk over to the little table where Sam and Garth are sitting. 

"Okay, so here's what we've found so far."  Sam says as he pushes the laptop closer to me so I can see.  He scrolls down the article that he's on. "The house is actually really close by so it'll take us no time to get there. We'll have to ask the cops questions once we're there. Dean and I will pose as FBI agents at the house, while you and Garth go and check out the woods." Sam says. The woods? Why do we have to go to the woods if the incident happened at the house? "Why are we going to the woods?" I ask. "Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. The sister of Holly, Holly is the woman that just died, was found dead in the woods very early this morning. She was killed the same exact way her sister was.  It's like she had been beaten to death, just like Holly.  The cops already got her body and took it to the morgue, but there's a bunch of snow on the ground so you guys should be able to investigate the crime scene pretty easily.  The cops weren't done with investigating the scene but they won't be back there until later tonight most likely. There's probably some blood left in the snow."  Sam explains.  Ew, that's sounds really terrible.  "Why can't I pose as an FBI Agent?  I mean I am sort of the head of all of us hunters since Bobby's been gone."  Garth whines.  Sam shuts it down immediately, "Garth you aren't good at acting.  You're better to be going with Elena.  Let Dean and I take care of everything else."  Garth rolls his eyes at this.  "Get ready Elena, it's gonna be cold as hell."  He says to me before getting up and walking outside to warm up the car.  He shuts the door loudly in slight agitation, this wakes up Dean. 

Dean groans and stretches under the covers.  He opens his eyes and sits up, looking over at Sam and I.  "What are you guys doing? What time is it?"  He asks.  His hair is all messy and he runs his fingers through it just before rubbing his eyes.  "It's nine in the morning. We've got everything figured out for today.  Me and you are going to the house as FBI Agents while Elena and Garth go to the woods."  Sam says sort of quickly, tired of explaining.  Dean's expression becomes confused.  "The woods?  Why the woods?"  Dean asks.  "Holly's sister was found dead there this morning.  She was killed the same way." Sam says. I pick up my coffee and begin to drink it. Dean rubs his eyes and gets up out of bed.  "I don't know if it's a good idea for it to just be Elena and Garth.  Maybe I should go with her and Garth go with you."  Dean says to Sam.  I look over at Dean as he stands in front of us, shirtless. He looks so attractive standing there...I could stare at him all freakin' day. But, here we go again with Dean's excessive worrying.
