Chapter Six

♀ Xia's POV ♀

I was currently in the office helping my mate study some files and sign papers when the phone rang.

"Hello?" Colton answered the phone after the third ring. He didn't stopped what he was doing.

"Yes, this is Alpha Colton. Who's this?" I watched as his face turned into confusion.

"Alpha Chase." He acknowledged him with one emotion shown on his face; anger. He then stopped what he was doing putting down his pen giving him his full attention. His eyes switching from blue to pitch black which means he's trying to control his wolf.

I, on the other hand was frozen on my spot. I could hear my own loud hammering heart beat inside my chest upon hearing his name.

I wanted to tune in to what they were talking about but I chose not to. So I busied myself reading the reports on my paper like it's the best job in the world.

But since we're in the same room, I can't help but hear his answers on the phone. Which, by the way was not going good at all.

"Yes, she's here. My patrol guards found her almost dying a week ago."

"No."

"Her mate is one of my pack members. Therefore, she belongs to my pack. It's in the law and since you're an alpha you should know that."

"Of course."

"It's your personal business, I don't have a say to that. But you should know that anyone who threathens or harms any of my pack members will be killed without hesitation."

"Bye." Once the call ended, he slammed the phone and he was breathing heavily I could see his chest rising up and down.

I walked to him and sat on his lap. Almost instantly he wrapped his arms around my small waist and nuzzled his nose on his mark calming himself.

I kissed his head while gripping his hair gently. We stayed like that for a few minutes then he pulled away. That's the time he spoke about their conversation.

"Remember all the Alpha's meeting once a year?" I nodded mumbling a silent yes.

I do remember that, Alpha's have meetings regarding the problems of their pack and how to improve their training. It's done every year and in different territory depending on the Alpha's turn to host it.

Three years ago, the meeting was held in our territory but I was not home that time, I stayed at one of the elders house because my twin brother doesn't want me to stay in the pack house with a bunch of alphas so I didn't got to meet them.

"It's my turn to host it this year. They will be staying here for a week. Including Alpha Chase." He growled saying his name, I found out this past week that he didn't like him ever since because he knows he's doings.

Alpha Chase kills for fun, rouge or run away and girl or a kid, anyone who trespass his territory will be killed brutally. They are not the strongest because we are but they are definitely the most merciless pack.

I sucked in deep breath hearing about it. How am I going to stay out of his way if his going to be staying here in the leader's pack house. Even though I know I'm safe here with my mate, I'm still scared of what might happen not only to me but also to any of our pack members most especially to his sister.
