Boo.

His eyes were just as beautiful as before, only this time they were looking at me in a new way. Although I couldn’t tell what he was thinking, I think he was pleased.

“Wow. You look…wow…I...I got these flowers for you.” His hands were shaking as he handed me a large bouquet of bright exotic flowers that were completely gorgeous. “You alright there, buddy?” I asked as I took the bouquet from his trembling hands. “Yeah, yeah I’m fine; couldn’t be better!” He laughed nervously under his breath which I thought was cheesy but adorable in a strange way. “Listen, I have a small surprise for you downstairs. Well, 4 small surprises waiting in the limo. You don’t mind do you?” “Well as long as it isn’t a bomb or cocaine, I think I’ll be alright.” My joke seemed to put him at ease for a while; until we got to the car anyways. There was a large man standing outside a glossy black limousine when we walked outside of my apartment building. I wasn’t expecting all of this; definitely not in my rinky-dink town. The guard opened the door and Niall gestured for me to enter first into the pitch black vehicle. I got in and sat down on what I assumed was a seat but I was sadly mistaken.

“Well, that escalated quickly. I don’t even know your name yet babe and you’re already on my lap. It’s okay though, I tend to have that effect on women.” He smiled at me and all I could see were bright white teeth and bluish-green orbs that seemed to glow in the dark. “Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry!” I tried to stand up in the limo but ended up hitting my head on the top and a pair of large hands grabbed my waist and pulled me onto another seat so I didn’t fall. I felt hot breath on the back of my neck before I heard a familiar low whisper in my ear, “Boo.” I gasped and immediately my body tensed up as I tried to convince myself that this wasn’t happening. “I knew you couldn’t stay away from me for long, love. Now don’t you worry that pretty little head of yours. I didn’t forget what happened earlier today and just as I said, I’ll get you back. You just wait.”

“NIALL! WHERE ARE YOU?!” I got up from the seat as fast as I could and tried to locate the only person I felt was safe in the vehicle so far. “I’m over here Emelia. Walk straight ahead. Why the hell is it so dark in here lads?” Suddenly the limo was illuminated with colorful lights and I could see where I was going for the first time in a couple minutes. There were five boys seated all over the limo that were all intensely staring at me. It scared me that I only formally knew one of them, although two of them had practically already felt me up.  I made my way over to Niall and sat in between him and the boy with the shockingly bright blue-green eyes. I scooted closer to Niall on the seat as I suddenly felt he was the sanest one out of the group.

“Let me introduce you to the lads. To your right is Louis, ahead and on your right is Harry, and across from him are Zayn and Liam.” “I’m Zayn.” A tanned boy with amber eyes said while showing his perfect smile. “and I’m Liam!” the other boy shouted enthusiastically. He had short hair, brown eyes, and the kindest and most gentle smile I had ever seen. “I’m Louis, and I seem to have already met your bum! What’s your name though?” “Emelia…but my family calls me Mea.” “Hello Mea!” “Hi!” “Hola Mea!” “Mea!” “Mea!” “Mea.” They all just kept repeating my name and saying hello in various tones of voice. It was strange but entertaining. Four of them continued joyously saying my name while one just stared at me from his seat. Harry was his name I believe. He looked me straight in the eyes and stared and the feeling I had earlier today returned. I felt as though he was looking into my soul and seeing things I didn’t want him to see. He made me feel exposed and insecure and I hoped he wouldn’t continue that for the entire night.

“N-Niall?” I said while breaking off our stare, “Where are we going?” “Well Mea, we are driving into Chicago and having dinner on the top floor of the John Hancock Building.” “That sounds amazing but that’s going to be at least an hour drive from here, plus traffic.” “Well I don’t have anything else to do. Are any of you guys busy for the rest of the night?” “Nope.” “I wish.” “No sir!” “Nope…” “There you have it. You have all five of us for the next few hours all to yourself.” Niall said with a bright smile. “Don’t worry! We won’t bite!” Louis added reassuringly “Unless you want us to” Zayn said with a smirk. “No! NO. That won’t be necessary.”

A few moments had passed and so far I had come to the conclusion that Louis was confident and absolutely hilarious, Liam was almost like a caretaker for them but yet a complete child at heart, Harry was undressing me with his eyes (constantly), and Zayn wasn’t much better. Both Harry and Zayn seemed like they wanted something from me, only Harry was a little more up front about it. Then there’s Niall. Niall came off as the nicest, gentlest, and most down-to-earth person I had met in a very long time. He had a certain sense of innocence that you would expect from a young boy and yet a very developed loving personality that you would expect from an old man. He was odd, but definitely intriguing. I admired the fact that he could remain so up-beat even in an awkward situation like this.

“So, where are you from Emelia? Or, Mea, sorry.” Liam was the first person on the car ride that showed interest in finding out things about me. “It’s okay. I was born in Plainfield and I never really left. My whole family lives there.” “Your shopping center in Plainfield is complete shit!” Louis added randomly. “I’m sorry? Most people here shop for corn and wheat not Nikes and skinny jeans.” “I was just kidding Mea! Relax love! Tonight will be fun.” I tried to believe what he said but there were two sets of eyes staring me down as if I were a tempting meal. I think that would put anyone on edge.

“What kind of music do you like?” Niall asked. “Um…I like some of everything really, except for country.” They all started to clap loudly and shouted “That a girl!” “Yes Mea!” “She’s a keeper!” I was thoroughly confused but I guessed that I was doing something right if I got a round of applause. “You guys are really strange!” I said with a nervous laugh. Suddenly my heart rate sky-rocketed as I felt Louis lean down, brush the hair off of my shoulder, and whisper into my neck, “Trust me, you haven’t seen anything yet babe.”
