DRAKES THOUGHTS

Drake's P.O.V.

"Focus Drake!" Coach shouted from behind me, when I missed another basket, again.

My mind was flooded with thoughts about Summer, Nathan and Tyler. I wish I could sort out everything.

"Head back team, we'll continue after school." Coach called. Everyone cheered as they got an early break.

I headed back to the changing rooms when Coach called me again. I groaned.

Shit! I'm up for some serious lecture now. I sighed and walked to where Coach was standing.

"The match is in two weeks and you know how important it is for us to win that. If the captain plays like this, team won't be happy and neither will be I." From his tone I could guess that he was annoyed and stressed.

"Yes coach." I mumbeled.

"We need to win this match Drake as-" And I zoned out on the rest of the lecure because we had already heard this about a hundered times in last week.

He put his hand on my shoulder and looked into my eyes. "Whatever is on your mind, my boy, don't let it affect your game." He smiled, a geniune smile.

I nodded and made my way to the changing rooms. It was mostly empty now, except for Cam and Blake.

They gave me questioning looks and I just shrugged.

"Got the lecture again." I mumbeled.

Blake thumped my back and said "Don't worry man, I know you're worried about Summer but we have to focus on the game."

"I know man! But it's not like I can help it! She is my almost-Best friend! And if Nathan or Tyler dare to even touch her, let alone hurt her, they're up for some serious shit." I growled. My blood was boiling under my skin. The thought of them hurting my Summer, aggravated me.

Wait! Did I say 'My Summer'? Jeez, I really need to sort out my mind.

"Drake come over my place today and get ready to get your ass kicked. We'll play." Cam said.

"In you dreams Nichols."

"In your nightmares." he shot back. Blake just laughed and walked out, leaving Cam and I alone. I started changing, my back towards Cam.

"Drake, you know we are best friends and lately... Well, you have been distant."

"I'm sorry man! I had a lot on my plate but that doesn't change anything Right?."

He nodded "So, you like Summer?"

"Offcourse I do, she's my best friend." I answered, still my back facing him.

"I mean, do you like her more than friends?" he sounded a bit annoyed now.

At his words, I turned around to face him. I gave him a 'Are you serious?' look and he just shrugged.

"I don't know Cammy, she's different from every girl I've met. But I just can't say anything." I was really confused at this thought. I was quite possesive about her and cared for her too. I have never felt like this for any other girl. I couldn't sleep last night because I had been thinking about her all night.

"But, Why do you ask Cammy? Do you like her?" I wiggeled my brows just to tease my beat friend.

"Um... No, not at all. You can have her, she is not my type anyways." he said casually.

I had changed so we walked out of the changeing room when my phone went off. I picked up, not bothering to see who it was.

"Hello."

"Hey Drake! Its Summer."

"Hey, Sup?" I asked.

"Well... We need to talk." I stopped in my tracks. I dreaded those words. I totally forgot that I had not told Summer about yesterday's incident at Blake's place.

"Sure. But can I atleast know what this 'talk' will be about?" I asked, even though I knew.

"You know Drake, don't play dumb! Meet me at parking after school."

"Why not now? It's lunch, Right?"

"No Mr.Smarty Pants. Lunch ended a few minutes ago. I'm headed towards next class so See ya!" and she hung up.

I put my phone in my pocket and walked towards the next class, ignoring Cam's questioning looks. 

Now I had to think what should I tell Summer.

Great! *Note the sarcasm*

Why are you so grateful on me my dear God? I asked myself and headed towards the main school building with Summer on my mind. I sighed...
