Realization of Past mistakes

Drake's P.O.V.

As soon as I got that call, a mix of feelings took over my senses: anger, guilty, fear and pain. I was beyond irritated now! Who the f**k dared to blackmail me on something that happed a year ago, that too when I was drunk?

As soon as I got into driver's seat, I sped off to Blake's place. I texted Cam and asked him to reach there.

If Summer found out about this, she'll hate me forever and I can't let that happen. She's my best friend after all.

What if Adam found out? A voice spoke in my mind.

How can he find out? Said the other.

He has close contacts with Basketball team!

Voices inside my head continued and I was nervous. Why did I have to drink that night? I thought to myself. If Adam found out, he'll beat the living shit out of me. It's my entire fault, if Summer finds out; I'll be in deep shit. My thoughts wandered over to the worst conclusions of my one silly mistake. My stream of thoughts was cut by my phone ringing. I picked it up.

"Hey dude! You really shouldn't have done that!" It was Cam and he was screaming. I had to hold my phone away from my ear. But whatever he was saying was right.

"I know." Was the only reply I could give at that moment.

"So? Where are you now?" curiosity filled his voice.

"I'm heading to Blake's place. That's where everything started and everyone is there."

"Oh, right. Okay, I'll be there too." And he hung up.

I threw my phone on the seat and kept driving.

I shouldn't be thinking what will happen if this spills, I should think what should be done now.

I can cancel it and pay for my actions.

Maybe I can threaten them.

Or else talk things out.

I was confused about what to do and called my best friend, Cam.

"I'm almost there." He said before I could even say something.

"Dude, should I cancel it?" I asked in a worried voice.

"That'd be really risky." He said, with a glint of nervousness in his voice.

"How did they even remember?"

"I don't know..." he mumbled.

"It's worth a try. I'd be in a deep shit if Summer finds out! I can't afford to lose her." I got scared even at the thought of losing my friendship with her.

"Be there. We'll see what we can do." And he hung up.

I drove there as fast as I could and pulled out in front of Blake's house. I hopped out, jogged towards the door and rung the bell. I was really scared of what was going to happen next. Blake will surely support me since he's my friend, so I relaxed on this thought. As soon as the door opened, I corrected my posture and acted cool and calm, I won't let them know that I am nervous. As soon as I noticed who opened the door, my jaw dropped.

"So... you're finally here. You kept us waiting long enough Drake." Layla said.

"What are you even doing here?" surprised to see her. She is Blake's girlfriend but she left the city a year ago.

"You'll know. Now come in." She pointed me to get in and as I did, I heard her locking the door. I walked in the living room to see a lot of familiar faces.

Blake got up from the sofa and gave me a man hug, which I returned.

"Don't worry, I have handled everything." He whispered in my ear before going back again. I nodded.

"So, I see you are finally here."

My head shot towards the direction of that voice. It was Nathan, basketball captain of West High and the root cause of all the trouble.

"Yup." I said, with popping-p sound. I slid my hands in my pockets.

"You owe me something." He smirked.

"I don't owe you anything." I stated clearly.

"Oh really? Do you remember the party last year? The one where we met and you lost-"

I cut him off "I remember that, I was sober enough to remember that."

"You lost the bet."

"I don't want to do it and I won't." I said, emphasizing each word. I would never do that to her.

"You'll have to or else I'll have to beat the crap out of you and this time I have an old friend with me who would gladly help me."

"Why do you even care about her?" I asked, even though I knew the answer.

"She rejected me! In front of my friends! I want her to know what humiliation and rejection is like!" he angered with every word he said.

"But Tyler has done that already, so why me too?" I asked curiously.

"I don't feel that it is important for me to answer that question." He said, looking away.

"Oh you don't understand how important it is for me to know the answer of this question." I said getting impatient and angry.

Nathan was the 'hottest' guy of our school and he wanted Summer, just wanted her because she's hot and a challenge too. And when he asked her out, she rejected him saying that she liked someone else. But I never found out who that guy was. Nathan's ego was blasted when Summer rejected him in front of his friends. It was last month of junior year and Nathan transferred to West High because he was offered captain-ship there. Last year we met at a party and he saw Summer there, he was enraged. So he decided to take revenge on her. Since, we were all drunk, we agreed without a single thought and Tyler and I became victims to that thought. We lost a game and our mission was to break Summer's heart. Tyler, being the major player, wanted to try on first. And everyone knows what happened next. It was from Summer that I came to know that Tyler was the guy she liked. Now Nathan wants me to finish the bet by humiliating and hurting her or else he will tell her the truth.

"Dude, Tyler was the guy she liked and she has suffered a lot already. Just leave her alone!" I growled.

"How can you be so heartless? You are an asshole!" I shouted.

"Mind your tongue Drake because my one phone call can land you in problem!" he shouted back.

With this he stalked off out of the room and shut the door behind him loudly. I looked around and saw that while we were arguing, Cam arrived. Everyone had a displeased or angry look on their faces.

A/N- Okay... So i have my exams in 10 days and i really need to study now. So, i won't be able to upload, I'll try though.
