EMMA'S P.O.V

MONDAY 1:34pm, HONG KONG

Beth smiled at me as she made her way over to the rest of the girls and I after finishing her vault. I gave her a hug.

"Nice job, Tweddle!" I said.

"Thanks. Molly's just finishing her floor routine then it's your turn on the uneven bars!" she said.

"I know, I can't wait!"

We both laughed until Molly came running over, red faced. She grabbed a water bottle.

"Jesus! That's hard in this heat!" she said, taking a swig of her water.

"EMMA-LOUISE DALEY FOR UNEVEN BARS!" The loudspeaker boomed.

I hugged the girls and walked across the gym. I looked at Tom who was smiling wildly at me. He blew me a kiss and I blew one back. I adjusted my GB coloured leotard and stood in my starting position. I nodded at my coach, Eddie.

"3,2,1!"

I grabbed onto the first bar and began my routine. I'd done a few tricks on the first bar before I let go and flipped onto the highest one, resulting in a few claps from the audience. The routine was all going well as I contemplated my dismount one last time. I counted to 3 before letting go. Shit too early. SLAM!

TOM'S P.O.V

I watched as Emma let go of the bar for her dismount. It had all gone so well. I watched as she let go and her flip seemed to go wrong. She landed with a large bang right on her head on the floor next to the mat.

"Emma!" I yelled.

I got up out of my seat and rushed down. Beth, Molly and the first aiders were already next to her. I pushed past them and knelt down by her. She was now sat down, crying.

"You ok?" I asked stroking her hair.

"My stomach!" she cried.

"Oh no."

"What?" Beth asked confused.

"She's... She's pregnant."

"What? How? What? Why was she even competing?"

"I need to go to hospital!" Emma yelled.

"Right away," a paramedic said.

Her neck was put in a brace and we were rushed out of the gym towards the on sight hospital. Once we got there, Emma was taken into a special room where there were two English doctors, thank god.

"Hello, I'm Kaili and this is my assistant Ryan. We're going to be observing your state," the blonde doctor smiled.

While she continued talking to Emma, Ryan began observing Emma's neck. He finished and wrote something down on his sheet.

"Right,we're now going to give you an ultrasound Emma and check on the baby. Have you had your one months scan yet?" Kaili asked.

"No, we were meant to be going for it tomorrow."

"Right, ok."

Ryan pulled a screen out from the wall as Kaili put some gel on Emma's stomach. Once it was completely covered, Kaili placed the wireless scanner on Emma's stomach. I gripped her hand. As we watched the screen, I felt my heart beat quicken. I couldn't see anything. Eventually, Kaili sighed and placed the scanner down on the desk and gave Emma a sympathetic look.

"I'm very sorry but it appears that you've had a miscarriage. Your baby girl has been terminated."

Emma broke down in tears and I hugged her. Why didn't I feel upset? I should be. Was it because it wasn't my kid?
