(A/N: I had totally forgotten my main character was a cheerleder and didn't make her do anything cheer related during her school life by mistake. Oops. So I've added this chapter now(: This one is dedicated to all the cheerleaders out there. I'm a cheerleaer too and I feel like we're always so underestimated/underappreciated. Well...that was the case in my high school. I remember at an award assembly, they asked the soccer, basketball, softball. football, cross country, and volley ball teams stand for recognition and applause, but they completely ignored the cheer squad. Cheerleading is the toughest sport ever. I only did it for a year, cause my school didn't have a squad until my senior year there, but I wish they'd have added cheerleading since my freshman year. When I was a little girl, it was always my dream to be a high school cheerleader. Anyway, enjoy this chapter. I'm goign to try to make my chapters longer from now on cause my laptop is fixed now! Up until a few days ago, I had to type everything up on my ipod and it was a real pain.)

Several days passed since the mashed potato baptism of Rae happened, Skip still didn’t believe me. So I let him believe what he wanted. Rae of course didn’t take it personally, because she knew there was no way I could’ve planned something so well that a bowl of potato mashings would fall upon her beautiful golden hair.

When it all finally sunk in, James and I laughed at the incident like mad. He doesn’t like Rae so much either.

Today I wore my black cheerleading uniform with the word ‘TITANS’ written across the chest part in yellow lettering. I also wore my black sweater that said ‘Titan Varsity Cheerleading’ on the back and the word ‘Captain’ written on the left sleeve.

Coach had let us know tryouts would be this afternoon and we were all very excited. We usually kept returning cheerleaders and added new people to replace the graduating seniors. This was my third year on the squad. Coach had also told us she was going to direct try outs in a different way, a new way.

I went about my day, ignoring Rae, ignoring Skip. My mood was too great to be ruined. Cheerleading was one of the many things I loved doing and I was going to enjoy it more now that James was going to try out for the football team and I was going to be practicing on the sidelines of the football and soccer field every day.

I was such in a good mood that I didn’t care when Rae sat at our table at lunch, dragging her lousy popular crew with her.

Mandy, Kelly, and I were returning cheerleaders along with others, so we changed into our black legging shorts that were designed especially for cheerleading and our black exercise shirts that had the mascot name on them.

We walked out confidently with the rest of the squad, while other girls walked out looking completely afraid. We were known to be ruthless against rival squads, winning first place at every competition for eight years straight. We were the best and people always wanted to try out, but we didn’t take beginners, we only took winners.

I was captain last year, so I got to the front of where everyone was standing and spoke to them, “Okay girls. Welcome to Titan cheerleading tryouts. Don’t think that you’re getting a spot because you showed up. You have to earn your spot on the squad. You have to be tough to make it onto the team. We will also be selecting our team captain today, and it may be any of you.” I really wanted to be captain again. Being captain for three years straight was going to be a new school record and I wanted to break it.

The girls smiled proudly at my words, they knew they were safe for yet another year if they decided to stay on the team. The others looked around nervously. “Sorry I’m late!” Someone exclaimed and walked to the front lines, close to me. It was Rae, with her hair pulled back into a pony tail.
