“I need to talk to you about something.” Kelly said nervously.
“What?” I asked her in a concerned tone. “Is something wrong?”
She grabbed onto my arm and dragged me to behind our tattoo stand. She took a deep breath to try to calm herself. “I saw Beau walking around the carnival with some girl.” Her voice cracked slightly in a tragic way.
“Really? Luke didn’t tell me anything. Maybe he just met her today.” I said.
She shrugged her shoulders, “She doesn’t look like someone we know. Help me find out what’s going on between them.” She pleaded.
I rolled my eyes, “I’ll ask Luke.” I walked back into the booth with Kelly behind me. Luke was taking a photo with a fan when I grabbed his hand and pulled him behind our booth. He grinned, as if he were waiting for a kiss or something. But instead I said, “Hey, do you know if your brother is dating someone?”
His smile faded and he looked at me with a questioning look, “Who? Beau? I don’t think so…Why?” He asked me, suspicious.
“I saw him with some girl.” I replied.
“Why don’t you ask him yourself?” He now seemed upset.
I giggled, poking his chest playfully. “Don’t tell me you’re jealous.” I got on my tip toes and pecked him on the lips quickly. “If I wanted to go out with Beau, I wouldn’t be dating you. Trust me.”
He kissed me on the lips with a smile forming on his lips again. “Why are you curious about his love life then?”
“Its Kelly.” I admitted, “She likes your brother. She wanted to know if you had any information about them. Thank you for your help, babe.” I grinned and kissed him on the lips. Before pulling away, I bit his bottom lip.
We both walked back around to the front of the booth where Kelly was waiting. “What did he say?” She asked me eagerly.
“He doesn’t know anything.”
“We need to go find out.” She decided and dragged me away. “I already asked Mandy and the other girls to cover for us. Its not like people are here for tattoos anyway. They all want a photo with your boyfriend.”
**
We went through the entire carnival without finding them anywhere. We were just about to give up when Kelly spotted them. “There they are!” She pointed.
I looked in the direction that she was pointing and saw Beau walking with a girl. She definitely wasn’t someone we knew. I assumed she was most likely a fan he was taking an interest in. She was beautiful; like she belonged on a magazine cover. Her skin was tanned, like she had spent time at the beach, she was just about his height, had dark brown hair and bright blue eyes. She was wearing a bright skin tight white dress that made her eyes look like they were shining like diamonds. She seemed over dressed for a carnival. They both looked like they were having a great time, smiling and laughing. “I’m sure she’s just a fan.” I reassured her.
“She’s beautiful, Arianna. And look at me.” She gestured towards herself.
The thing about Kelly is that she’s very pretty, but she doesn’t do much to help her appearance. When we don’t do cheer events, she usually wears combat boots, her hair in a pony tail, no make-up, and her school uniform is slightly too big for her. It’s a huge transformation when we have cheerleading events. We have to wear make-up and do our hair and it’s a drastic difference.
