(A/N: I made this chapter super long because I took one extra day to update. THere was one girl who wanted to know who Luke's cruch was. Well, this chapter goes out to her and the rest of my wonderful readers. Thank you for reading this story. Without you all, I'd have no motivation to continue writing. Stay beautiful. xx)
I ended up staying in the squad because coach told me there had been a mistake and that Rae wasn’t going to be captain, she had meant to type in CC for co-captain, which was still sickening, but to a lesser extent. I was going to be the captain for the second consecutive year. Rae was going to be co-captain along with Kelly. I was going to see her all day every day now. She’s dating Skip, so I’ll see her around the house and she’s on the squad, so I’ll see her after school too. If they had really made her captain, I’d have quit the squad. I mean, she took Skip from me and now cheerleading? No.
I honestly feel like the universe is trying to force me to murder her. I can’t stand Rae Lozano.
It had been one long month since tryouts and one long month since Skip and I last talked. I mean, don’t get me wrong, we still talked in front of mum and dad, but behind the scenes there was nothing going on. As for cheerleading, we already had our new uniforms, we had perfected our skills, worked on stunts and routines. We were ready to show them off at the very first soccer game that would kick off the cheerleading season as well as the other sports.
Skip and I were still mad at each other and I wouldn’t have minded, except for the fact that he was going to go to the school and he didn’t want to give me a ride on his bike. He left when I started on my hair, only to have an excuse to leave me behind. I had to pull my hair back into a pony tail and curl it, putting my cheer bow on as well.
It was six forty five in the afternoon when I finished. The bus was going to be leaving for the rival school at seven. I knew I couldn’t call anyone from the squad to come get me, cause then I’d make them late and they’d then be short two cheerleaders rather than just one.
I ran to my closet and grabbed something. I had an idea.

So maybe roller blading it to school wasn’t the best idea I’ve had, I thought to myself as I saw two drunk men coming towards me. I pressed the crosswalk button faster, in hopes of getting the light to turn green so I could make my escape.
Only I would think it completely safe to roller blade to school in a cheerleading uniform when its pitch dark outside.
“Hey…” One of them said in a slurred voice, eyeing me up and down.
I ignored him and waited for the light to turn green. Although it was taking unusually long. Don’t make eye contact, I told myself, semi-paralized in fear. “My friend thinks you’re hot.” The other one said, reaching for my arm.
I pulled away quickly and felt relieved when I saw the light go from red to green. I crossed the street on the my roller blades and continued calmly until I realized they were following me. “Keep calm, Arianna.” I told myself. “Just go faster.”
I started picking up the speed and so did they. “Come on, we just want to have fun.” One of them called out.
“Shit.” I muttered, feeling my heart racing faster. I looked back to see they were a few yards behind, but getting closer. I was near to the school now, just two blocks away, so I was beginning to feel safe. Just a few more steps and I’d be in the clear. Losing focus of where I was going, I crashed into someone, but they held my shoulders in place to prevent me from falling backwards to the ground. I turned my attention forward, hoping it wasn’t another pervert that was going to help those other two guys and I was relieved to see it was Luke. I breathed out a sigh of relief and mentally thanked God for sparing my life.
