Chapter 14 Part 1
Kylie's POV
"Hey Coach Braxton!" I shouted out.
"Hey there, Kys. You're the first one today. Well, you know the drill. Mile warm-up." He replied, smiling.
I nodded and started running. I usually wasn't first but I was already changed thanks to a rather unfortunate incident with paint earlier...
Stupid Kevin...
Thank goodness it was time to run now. I really needed to run off my frustration at Kevin.
Now I know most people would consider me crazy for running in triple digit weather but I love running. The sweltering heat, the side aches, the lead in your legs after running 2 digit routes....All the joys of running.
But the images of hot guys shirtless really makes up for it. At least that's what Trish likes to say whenever she comes down to see me run.
Honestly, I don't feel the same way. Okay, who am I kidding? The guys are hot but it's not like I actually like them. I like a guy who's faster and smarter. The guys that were faster than me weren't as smart though. Maybe I'm a bit picky. I mean, James is pretty cute. And nice. And most importantly, faster than me.
I was pondering over the merits of each guy in the cross country team when I happened to see a certain somebody talking to Coach. Was I seeing things? I must be dehydrated from the heat to see Kevin down here.... Shouldn't he be off playing football?
I ran up closer to them. Nope.
I groaned. Did he really have to ruin running for me too? He almost ran me over last time! But he was acting rather, well, nice earlier...
What were they talking about? Is he seriously joking cross country? Well, I was going to kick his butt! I bet he never ran 10 miles in his life. I smiled to myself.
Kevin's POV
Nothing beats watching your mate running, seeing her sexy legs on display. I could really get used to it.
I smiled. Okay, I was lucky to have someone like her as my mate. She ran pretty fast for a human and she was a pretty sight in those shorts. But I really needed to stop thinking about how amazing she is and go talk to the coach...
Yeah, mind out of the gutter. My wolf snorted at me.
As if. I was just contemplating her beauty. I scoffed.
I walked up to the coach, extending my hand. "Mister...."
"Braxton. And you are?" He raised an eyebrow.
I smiled. "Kevin Moore and I'm interested in joining cross country..." My voice trailed off as I watched Kylie running up to us. Why was she smiling? Was she happy to see me? I spoke a little louder. "And to run with the beautiful ladies." I finished smirking.
Yep. She was blushing and she sped up. She was so predictable. And cute. That blush seriously does things to me...
The coach laughed. "Slow down Kylie! It's just warm-up." Then he turned to me. Now, I would usually reprimand you for such a comment but I think I like you. You look fast and you got a smart mouth. I think we'll get along. You're on the team. Just make sure you get the papers done."
I smirked. "Got that, Coach."
I was on the team. It was easy. But when have things not been easy for me?
Kylie's definitely going to have a hard time resisting my advances now...
Sorry for not updating in so long. It's just that my dad passed away in July and I just haven't been in the mood to write.... But I hope you guys liked this!
