Chapter 6
Kevin's POV
Oh. Shit.
My wolf growled at me sarcastically. No shit, Sherlock. Good job at impressing my mate. I could do way better.
That didn't help my situation at all.
Kylie was in my arms, which was a good thing, but she was covered in various shades of paint. Of course she still looked drop-dead gorgeous to me. The problem was that she also looked mad. I mean, pissed off. Same difference. Like one of those one-night stands I had before when she realized she was a one-night stand...
I stared at her for a few agonizingly long seconds.
She stared back, still pissed off as she tried to squirm of my arms.
She slipped on the wet paint and started to fall.
Like the prince I was, I caught her in my arms. You know, like the movies.
She looked upset when she realized she ended up in my arms again. But she looked so adorable when she was ticked off...that pout.
I wanted to kiss her. Badly. I was filled with this inexplicable urge to kiss her right there. I know, not a very romantic first kiss if you're dripping in paint. But there's always a first time for anything.
I started to lean towards her face....her gaze seemed to soften.
I moved in closer.
Our lips were about to meet....
Of course, the teacher had to interrupt.
Mrs. Martinez drawled out. "Well, well. Mr. Moore and Ms. Janson. What do we have here?"
My wolf was the pissed off one now. I hate this woman. I didn't disagree.
Kylie's face was the most beautiful shade of red when she realized we had almost kissed. She got out of my arms without falling this time and glared at me. While blushing at the same time.
So cute.
I turned to the teacher. What else could I do now? The moment was shattered.
I also noticed that the whole class was staring at Kylie and me.
Obviously. My wolf was being sarcastic again.
"Well, I was trying to get paints but I guess the opposite happened."
Everyone started to laugh.
I saw Kylie crack a small smile too.
Mrs. Martinez raised an eyebrow but she was smiling too.
"I suppose I should be more upset. But since it was your first day and also my fault for not putting back the blue paint carefully, I'll excuse you guys. But please, go clean up yourselves. And I expect you guys to clean up that mess too."
I winked at her. "An artistic mess."
Kylie glared at me.
Guess she was still pissed off.
But I tried to save her from the paint!
I sighed. Blue was not my favorite color anymore...
Mrs. Martinez handed us hall passes. "Go make sure you're not dripping paint before you go to the locker room."
