No Loitering in the Hallway

Chapter Nine

Kevin's POV

Her scent was so intoxicating. I just couldn't resist leaning closer and closer.

My wolf went crazy. "Kiss her, you idiot!"

I mentally rolled my eyes at him. "I know! I don't want to scare her off. Stop ruining the moment!"

And I wanted to do just that so badly. She was staring at me, biting her lip as I leaned closer. If that was supposed to send me a message that said "Stop", it wasn't working. It only made me want to kiss her more. Those lips, just like rose petals...They parted. She sighed. That was the most beautiful thing ever.

I needed no further invitation. I moved even closer. Our lips were just millimeters apart but she made no effort to stop me. Her scent was driving me so crazy that I couldn't prolong the moment further even if I wanted to...

Our lips touched. In that second, everything made sense to me. But, as all beautiful moments go, something always ruins it. In this case, much, much too soon. The nurse came barging in with all the papers.

"All the papers are here and...Oh my! You two, what are you doing?" she gasped, looking quite affronted.

I groaned. My wolf was on edge. He definitely wasn't appeased by a mere touch of the lips. "I want more! I demand you to seize my mate away from here and kiss her!"

That wasn't quite a bad idea. I wanted more too. That only made me crave her lips more. She was quickly becoming an addiction-her scent, her blushes, and now her lips.

But I had to face reality. If I were to do that, it would scare Kylie and raise suspicions. "This is why I'm in charge and not you. Besides she's our mate, not just yours. That would be a very stupid thing to do." I reprimanded my wolf. He growled."You know you wanted to do that too."

Well, time to do damage control. The nurse was staring at us suspiciously. My mate was blushing, her cheeks were like red roses. A wildfire....A sunset.

I shook my head. I needed to get my mind out of the gutter quick. There was always time to admire her blushes later....

"Ms. Nurse, I was just examining the bump on her head more closely. I would hate to trouble you again if she had to come in here again." I explained.

She looked like she accepted my explanation. "My, you're a thoughtful boy. For a second there, I thought you two were...never mind."

Well, we were about to do what you thought we were doing until you interrupted I thought sourly.

"You're losing your touch here." My wolf scoffed. "I could do so much better. I would've kissed her right when we saw her in history. Walk right up and kiss her in front of everyone."

I just sighed. "That's so smooth. I need to learn how to pick up girls from you."

Kylie shifted on the bed, interrupting our convo. I looked at her. her cheeks were still bright red.

"Umm, the bell rings in 5 minutes. We should head back to English to get our stuff."

"Are you sure you're fine dear?" The nurse asked. Kylie nodded. "Well, take care now!"

We left the nurse's office. It was quiet in the hallway. I turned to her and stopped walking. She kept going, pretending not to see me stop.

Well, I'm not going to be ignored like that. I caught up to her with ease and grabbed her hand, pulling her to me.

She belonged in my arms. If I could only keep her there now...

"Hey! What are you doing?" She whisper-shrieked. "We need to get to class you know..."

"You know, there was something we didn't quite get to finished back there...." I trailed off, winking.

She blushed. She blushed a lot today. Not that I minded. Her blushes only enhanced her beauty and I was glad to know I had such an effect on her.

"Umm...we weren't doing anything. And I don't want to get in trouble in the hallway. There's a rule you know...no loitering in the hallway"

I smiled, letting her go. If I held her for a second longer, I would've kissed her right there. And for more than 5 minutes. I didn't mind people seeing us but I was sure she did. "I like good girls. So we'll finish this off later right?"

Her eyes were wide. "Wh-hat? Later? I don't think I'll see you later." Then she muttered under her breath. "At least I hope not..."

I could hear that. And it hurt surprisingly much. My wolf whimpered. She looked guilty as soon as she said that, like she knew those words had hurt me somehow. I guess she was confused about the whole thing. I know why I'm crazy about her. But she doesn't know why she's crazy about me...

My wolf snorted. 'You wish. It's all me."  He's just so full of himself.

We reached the English classroom just as the bell rang. Kylie looked so cautious as she opened the door. It was really endearing how she was so careful about not falling again. Personally, I wouldn't have minded being in that position again.

"So nice of you two to join us now." The teacher, what was his name again?, droned out.

Kylie smiled weakly. "I'm sorry, Mr. Smithers. I'll be sure to get the notes from someone later."

"It's alright, Kylie. I'm just worried..." he smirked, "about Mr. Kevin over here."

Who did he think he was? My wolf was growling, enraged.

I smiled winningly. "I would hate for you to worry. I always considered English to be, well, my easiest subject."

He glared. "I'll be watching you. You better live up to your words." He proceeded to wave us off.

As soon as we were out of his earshot, Kylie turned to me. "What were you thinking? You know he's going to be harder on you now!"

Aww...was she worried about me? That was just too adorable. I smiled. "Darling, I appreciate your concern but why don't you kiss it all better?"

She blushed. "Jerk."

"You know you like me anyways..."

"Sure, in your dreams."

"I know, you're in them every night."

She groaned. "I'm not continuing this inane conversation with you. Need to head off to Mandarin-please tell me you don't have that class..."

I felt hurt. Did she want to be rid of me that badly? Too bad I wasn't in Mandarin. Why in the world did I choose to take Spanish again?

"Sweetie, I guess we'll be parting ways here then. I'm sadly not taking Mandarin. But for you, I just might..." With that I sauntered off, leaving her speechless. Well, I'm good at leaving girls speechless.

I smiled. Next destination? The office. To change a certain class.
