Folks, folks gather around
Do not stir, no sir, just settle down.
For I am about to tell you a story. Remain quiet and calm as I might not be as collected.
It all started with this lady, call it a 'sob story' if you must; I mustn't stop you.
It was silent for a while. Nothing out of the ordinary. Just your average young lass or so on the surface it appeared.
Deep were the wounds inflicted as the result of neglect and abuse.
Being gay was no excuse.
Gay used to be a word used to describe merry happenings.
Now, it slips off the tongue in a mere whisper, leaving disgust on the tip.
The young miss did not fancy the lads that would speak with a smooth tongue, and use it in a more devious way at an opportune moment.
Conservatives were not so casual about this whole 'trend'.
They demanded answers. Wanted to know how someone could be so 'queer'.
She thought about herself for a while after that.
"Perhaps, something is a tad strange about me. "
She began to wallow and question herself.
She did this for nights upon nights..
Until one night, another lady like she came to her.
She pondered some more.
Being gay, being queer is not a choice. It is more of a trait.
One cannot simply choose to be comical.
Not everyone had a chuckling hilarity in their persona.
There is such a captivating beauty in it all that everyone else seems too blind to see.
Still they mutter their slurs, and make a mess out of she.
She makes a moon out of herself with craters so deep. She doesn't feel at all anymore.
She's grew numb and cold.
She was no longer as bold.
Isn't that what they wanted? To feel a certain way or rather not feel at all?
To triumph under certain guidelines or to completely fall?
So, ladies and gentlemen, without all of the flowery language and the disorganized rhyme scheme...
A girl was deeply depressed and anxiety-ridden from the people who tried telling her no.
Because being gay. Of course that wouldn't do. Even if it meant that the girl was getting everything out of life and living at full potential.
Those who dismissed her made her into a bottom feeder. Completely ruined her. She was tarnished silver. There's nothing delicate or pristine about a girl who imposes damage on herself to spare the feelings of others.
There is nothing beautiful about a girl who gives up her life so others can enjoy their own.
Selfish are those who take away the right of the pursuit of happiness from others.
Cruel are those who put them through so much torture.
Especially those who are considerably the first people a child trusts as she enters this harsh world.
