~ Recap ~
"Is everything okay, Emiko?" I jumped up and turned around, coming face to face with Kakashi. He was holding his orange book in one hand, and he was looking at me intently.
"Y-yes, Kakashi-sensei."
"I heard you have great chakra control, but it seems like you can't keep a steady chakra under your feet. What happened?"
"I... I don't know. I run up the tree and after a few steps my chakra disappears."
"It disappears?! What do you mean?"
"Like I said earlier, it disappears. I'm unable to feel my chakra for a fraction of a second, but that small amount of time is enough for me to fall from the tree."
Kakashi looked at me for a very long time. After about two minutes he spoke, but what he said completely shocked me.
~ End of recap ~
Emiko's POV
"I think that there is a chakra seal on you preventing you from controlling your chakra. There are a few things that don't add up though... Firstly, chakra seals don't just 'appear', someone needs to come in contact with you. And as far as I know no-one who can place chakra seals came close to you. Secondly, there are no visible seals on your body, and I doubt the seal is under your clothes, as the usual spot for chakra seals are either ankles, wrists or behind your neck. Sometimes they are placed under the tongue to prevent someone from spilling out information. Thirdly, there is no reason for someone to place a chakra seal on you, a rookie genin."
I kept staring at Kakashi, trying to process all the things he said. I knitted my brows, as something he said didn't make sense.
"How do you know that there is a chakra seal on me if there are no marks on my body?"
"Well, a chakra seal seems like the only logical explanation. There is no jutsu that can take away chakra for a second, while chakra seals are used to limit someone's chakra. However, I am not entirely sure." He sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck, giving me a closed eye smile.
Okay, breathe, Emiko. There has to be an explanation why my chakra disappears. Maybe the chakra seal is invisible or something... Yes, that might be possible! "Kakashi-sensei, is it possible to make the chakra seal invisible?"
"...Maybe." He replied, after briefly thinking about it.
"But only the person who gave you the chakra seal can remove it." He added, before I had a chance of asking him to remove it.
I hung my head in defeat, knowing that I might not learn to control my chakra and walk on trees. Kakashi placed a reassuring hand on my shoulder. "When we get back to the Village I'll talk to the Hokage and we'll help you."
"Thank you, Kakashi-sensei. At times like this I wish Jay was here..." I whispered the last part, but Kakashi heard it.
"Don't worry, I will always be here for you. I might not replace Jay, but I'll try to be like an older brother to you. So if you need someone to talk to, come to me."
I hugged him, glad that he sees me like a sister. I might not hear from Jay for a while, but knowing that Kakashi will be there for me like Jay always has been made me happy.
"Thank you, Kakashi." I stepped back, and smiled up at him. He returned my smile, and ruffled my hair.
I playfully glared at him, while fixing my hair. All of a sudden Kakashi turns around, kunai in hand. "Come out." He shouted in the direction of the trees. Soon after he said that, someone with a black cloak stepped forward. I noticed that the person was about my height. Maybe it's Haku... Nah, Haku only shows himself when Naruto is alone. I don't think I've ever seen someone wearing a black cloak in the anime...
