Chapter 17 → Surprise!!!

Emiko's POV

"I guess we should get to know each other more if we want to work well as a team. As the leader, I'll start."

Zabuza, Haku, Yuna and I were sitting by the table. We finished dinner a few minutes ago, and Zabuza suggested we should talk about ourselves.

"I'm Zabuza Momochi, I was also known as the Demon of the Mist. I'm one of the 7 Swordsmen. Let's see... I don't have things I like, I hate brats and people who use others for their wicked plans. My hobby is training and I don't have a dream for the future. Haku, you're next."

"I'm Haku Yuki. I like training and making my friends proud of me and happy. I dislike anyone who dishonors others. My hobbies are training and taking care of people who are precious to me. My dream for the future is live in a peaceful world."

"Hn. Yuna Uchiha. I like a few things and dislike many things. I don't have hobbies and my dream is to save my father before it's too late."

Wow, spoken like a true Uchiha...

"Uh... Emiko Tatsumi. I like sweets, meeting new people and training. I dislike people who mistreat my friends. My hobbies are training and meeting new people. My dreams are to help anyone who is in trouble and live in a peaceful world."

"Very well. We have the only survivor of the Yuki Clan, an Uchiha from the future, one of the 7 Swordsmen of the Mist and a girl who knows the future. I must say, this is one of the strongest team this village has so far. I'm proud to lead this team. Now, anyone has any plans for tonight?"

We glanced towards each other, before fixing our eyes on Zabuza. Yuna then cleared her throat to get attention.

"Ahem, I think we should get some sleep, Zabuza-sensei. It's almost 10pm, and we have our first mission tomorrow..."

"Yeah, whatever kid. Go to sleep then, and don't wake up late tomorrow." Zabuza said. We all said our goodnights and went to our rooms.

"Ah, Team Zabuza. How was your first night in Konoha?" The Hokage kindly asked us.

"Fine, Hokage-sama."

"It was good, Hokage-sama, thank you for asking."

"Hn... Fine."

"Not my first night here, but it was good nonetheless."

I'm sure you know who said what...

"Very well. Your first mission is to find a scroll. This scroll contains detailed information about your special ability, Emiko. When I was in the academy, I had a friend who was from an ancient clan which specializes in jutsus showing the past and the future. I can't remember the name of the clan, and there are no records of it here in Konoha. I don't know where my friend is now, but if you find him, you'll find the scroll. When you find him, just give him this letter, and he won't hesitate to give you the scroll. His name is Hoshi. He's about 70 years old. This mission might take months, if not years, to complete. Will you, Team Zabuza, accept this mission?"

We all kept quiet, waiting for Zabuza to make a decision. Seconds became minutes, and the only sounds you could hear were the birds chirping outside and the Hokage smoking his pipe.

"We accept the mission, Hokage-sama." Zabuza finally said.

I was thrilled to go on this mission for several reasons. The first one was that I was not going to be involved with the whole Chunin Exams and the attack on the village, which meant that the original plot won't change and I will be safe. The second reason being that I would travel around, meeting new people. Third reason is that I might find out more about my ability if we find the scroll. The last reason being the most important one: I might see Jay or someone from the Akatsuki.
