Liam's P.O.V.

"Can I help you clean up?" I asked Kiana, who was throwing broken pieces of wood in a trashcan.

She looked up at me.

"Oh, that's okay. You don't have to. Just enjoy the show with your friends." She said, walking past me.

She bent over and picked up the broken torture chair. I moved out of the way as she carried it back into the room.

"I want to help." I said.

She sat the chair and turned to me.

"Um, can you nail the chair back down to the floor while I sweep up?"

"Sure." I said, walking over.

She opened a closet door and pulled out a black toolbox, handing it to me.

"There should be enough nails in there." She said.

"Thank you." I said.

"You're welcome."

She turned back around grabbing a broom and shut the door.

"So, you know voodoo?" I asked her as I sat by the chair.

"Yeah. I'm a voodoo priestess." She said. "And I can see and talk to the dead."

"Really? For how long?" I asked.

"For... Forever, I guess." She said. "I didn't understand what I was doing until I was like 9."

She started to sweep the floor as I set the chair right.

"And what about the voodoo part?" I asked and I looked down at the different nails.

"Well, my grandmother told me I had an ancestor that was a moon goddess. Which is part of the reason why she named me Kiana since, it means moon goddess. But I was the generation where she would be reincarnated. If you believe in that." She said.

"So, you're a reincarnation of her?"

"Technically, yes." She said, sweeping up the broken wood. "So, I started to study it."

"That's cool." I said, bending the metal onto the floor so, I could nail it down. "Have long have you been singing?"

"Well, professionally. I was 20." She said.

I looked up at her.

"How old are you?"

There was no way she was over 20. She looked like she was at least 18.

"21 and loving it." She said and looked around. "Where did I put my alcohol anyway?"

"You look really young for a 21-year-old." I said.

"Aww. Thank you. I've never heard that one before." She said, grabbing a pan to sweep the trash up.

I held the nail over the hole and hammered it all the way down and did the other one.

"How long have you owned this place?" I asked, fixing the metal.

"Well, by myself almost a year. I used to own this place with my friend but... She died in a car accident last year." She said.

I looked up at her as she dumped the trash into the trashcan.

"I'm sorry." I said.

She set the broom and pan down then turned to me, crossing her arms.

"Why are you asking me so many questions?"

"I want to get to know you." I said, honestly.

"Why?"
