Chapter 3: The first boss raid!

Valkyries POV:
Standing infront of the towering doors that indicate a boss battle is waiting just a little beyond, I turn my head to Ao on my shoulder, smiling at his glowing blue coat.

The raid leader, Diabel, explains the format of attack, causing me to yawn, really not having slept enough last night to listen to the boring prattle of men. As the door swings open and the parties shuffle cautiously beyond its boundaries, they are all on edge, the tension so thick you could cut it with a knife. (A/N: I know how cheesy and over used that line is, I just felt I had to add it for my english teacher =3.) I decide to block out all of the negativity and focus at the job at hand, murdering skeletal minions which jump out of no where.

"Charge!" Diabel yells to his soldiers, putting his sword toward the main boss, a large group of men tanking him so the more agile types can pull off combos.

I glance around, watching the many parties pick there targets and attack simultaneously. Their moves are sluggish, causing me inwardly groan in dissatisfaction, they don't seem to realise that this is a life or death situation. Dancing inbetween each minion, twirling my sword, I weaken the hoards of skeletons providing easy kills for those that follow.

"Girl in the cloak! Get in formation" one man yells at me, causing me to sweat drop.

"Focus on staying alive, baka" I shout back my reply, sticking my tongue out as he narrowly dodges a blow to the head. I fail to tell them i'm not even in a party.

The boss monster reaches its last bar of health and throwshis sword away, pulling out a completely different weapon than everyone expects. The shocked look on Kirito's face confirms my suspicions.

"Everyone stay back! The attack pattern has changed from what we decided in the plan, everyone regroup" he yells at the group of laughing men, thinking they are winning. Kirito's warning comes to late as Diabel gets slashed with the demons huge sword right before Kirito's eyes, shattering into particles of light before anyone could heal him.

I growl angrily and walk forward, slashing and twirling my way through minions as I eye the huling demon boss, It turns its eyes to me as I charge straight at it, barely noticable by anyone watching from afar. As my sword makes contact with its chest, I kick straight against its buff body with a slight laugh, dodging a blow completeley. I spin mid air, roundhouse kicking him in the face and flipping gracefully landing on my feet. The beast, now enraged, It's sword swings straight for my face but I redirect the massive blow into the ground using my sword, allowing me to run up the side of the blade and slash its neck, smiling at the screech of pain it emits before shattering into light particles.

Strolling through the crowd of awestruck gamers, I sheate my sword and head straight for the entrance to the next floor. I hear the complaints from everyone below about how it should have been impossible for me to do that.

"Shad up all of you" I scream frustrated, gathering all attention onto me. "You are all so stupidly worthless that you can't even admit when your wrong! If it were not for me right now that thing would have destroyed you all before you could move" I yell, spinning on my heel and exiting the dungeon.

Kirito's POV:
"you would all be dead right now!" Valkyrie yells before exiting the dungeon, heading towards the next floor. People grumble to themselves not feeling like exploring the new location after all the death they have encountered today. I don't care about the death right now, I care about how true Valkyries words were, without her, many more people would have died. And nobody would ever even give her a thank you for saving them.

Who is that mysterious girl and what reason does she have to fight so powerfully. I ask myself before heading back to the inn.

So what do you guys think of the first fight scene of the book! Sorry to all those who do not approve of the O.C getting so much action over Kirito but meh its my book =P.
