Valkyrie sits in the back of the stands, watching the raid group plan for the first boss raid as a group. The last people who tried to defeat this boss died horribly so there's quiet the panic shuffling throughout the arena where everyone has gathered. Valkyrie lays back and gazes at the beautiful clouds fluttering in the sky, trying to see how this is all just a game.
"and this handbook shows all of the information on the boss battles that we players should need to know, provided to us by the very beta testers you all so despise" Diabel, a blue haired warrior conducting the raid yells from the front of the crowd.
Valkyrie ignores all the yells and protests of the players gathered and bites down on a virtual apple, sighing at how bad it tastes. The plan is simple, groups kill things around the boss while the other group charges the boss directly. Well, that is just how Valkyrie sees it anyway, the rest of the people keep going into way too much detail about whats happening and how to beat the first of one hundred bosses!
"Right then everyone, join the groups that you wish to join for the raid, and party up! lets get this show on the road" Diabel yells at everyone, clearly trying to rouse them all, failing miserably.
"We can start that tomorrow" one angry player yells from the back, with cries of agreement from all around him.
"Lazy idiots" Valkyrie coughs angrily, standing up and heading for the boss room, planning on staying there for the night.
Kirito's POV.
After accepting the party up with Asuna, I gaze around the arena, searching for any extra party members rather than staging a fight with only two people. The sight of a black cloak billowing in the wind catches my eye.
"Is that..." I murmur to myself, standing up and following the mysterious hooded figure out of the arena halls.
The cloaked figure already has a huge lead on me but if I run, maybe my suspicions will be confirmed. Before my chance arrives, however, Asuna grabs my shoulder causing me to turn around to my temporary party member.
"We should probably turn in for the night, we need all the rest we can get" she says timidly.
By the time i turn around again, the mysterious hooded figure has vanished.

Valkyries POV.
I look around the corner of the building, watching my pursuer turn and walk away. The sun is already setting in the town of beginnings. If i want to get to the boss room early i should probably get moving, but something compels me to stay. The feeling in my heart pulls me away from my hiding place and towards a dark tavern along the edge of town. The building reeks of alcohol even as I stand at the door, causing my stomach to stir in displeasure.
"Why the hell would I feel the need to come here" I grumble to myself angrily. Even still, I push the door open and enter "the devils inn" tavern.
The sight inside is one to be reckoned with. The place is dark and smoker, soldiers from the seediest of guilds seat themselves throughout the place, gambling and drinking their troubles away.
"It would appear that I have seen the dark side of Sword Art" I sigh to myself, taking my seat at the counter.
"What can we get ya, little lass" the sweaty bar keep asks, smiling with his lewd half smile. Come on Kayaba, out of everything you make us capable of smelling the disgusting smell of a sweating bar keep? Funny.
"I guess I will just have a glass of water please" I give in with a sigh, noticing all of the lewd stares I receive from all of these less than outstanding crooks and swindlers.
In the corner of the room, I notice a small blue fox like creature, a carbuncle, a tamable beast featured in a cross over event with Final Fantasy. It seems to be really low on health and obviously not looked after by its owner. "This must be the reason I felt such a strong need to come here" I whisper under my breath, feeling sick at the cruelty of beast tamers in this game. The poor guy doesn't even have a name.
I hop off of my bar stool, pulling my cloak tighter around my slender body, walking straight up to the cruel heart tank of a man named Zaz. I tap him on the shoulder, challenging him to a dual.
"Oh yeah, what are the stakes little girl" he laughs at me, towering two times taller than me. I do not flinch as I point to myself and the carbuncle.
"If I win, I get your severely abused carbuncle, if you win you get me" I state, shrugging, tapping my foot against the hard wood floor impatiently, ignoring the bird calls from his company.
The man instantly accepts the dual with a lewd smile plastered on his face, overconfident much? I lead him outside the tavern so we don't destroy such a lovely *cough* establishment. "My name is Zaz, learn the name of your new master" he chuckles menacingly, unsheathing a huge two handed long sword.
"Names Valkyrie, prepare to die" I murmur softly, pulling out my black Japanese sword with red hilt, holding it in front of me lazily, wishing it was over already.
The second the timer reaches zero, he charges, letting out a gruff battle cry and swinging the monstrous blade in an arc for my neck.
"To slow" I murmur, dancing to the side, away from the blade, it misses by a foot. This only enrages him more, his attacks strong but predictable, my intricate dance confusing this unsophisticated brute. With one low strike of his, I see my opportunity to jump his blade. I land on his blade and slash repeatedly across Zaz's chest, red pixel blood dripping down my blade as I end the dual, claiming victory.
The carbuncle squeaks in joy and runs towards me, hopping into my arms and crawling onto my shoulder. "Hey little guy, I think I will call you Ao" I smile at him, petting his cute little head.
He squeals and rubs my neck, clearly appreciating the love I am already showing him. As I walk away, the giant Zaz screams and brings his sword down directly towards my head. Ao send a burst of wind into his chest and sends him flying into the side of the tavern. I smile at my new found friend.
My business complete, I turn and walk away, heading for the nearest inn of an acceptable quality to collapse from exhaustion.

Unknown POV.
I watch the girl, Valkyrie, walk away from a distance, leaving all of the men looking like startled fish. I chuckle to myself "next target located" I laugh in my mind.
