"ok, so we're forty pages through, and i have one question," ashley said, a slightly worried expression written on her face.

"ask," tanner replied, raising an eyebrow at ashley.

"what the fuck runs through your head on a daily basis?"

"ashley! you told me you liked it," melanie blurted out.

"nobody was supposed to know that!"

"so um, do you hate me?" tanner asked nervously. melanie shook her head.

"nope. the book is pretty good, actually. a little strange, but all the best people are a little crazy, right?"

"i guess, yeah."

"i find that lizzy is quite relatable," ashley said with a laugh.

"adele is the most relatable, i swear to god," melanie said, shaking her head and laughing.

"i relate to tanner a lot."

"you are tanner," melanie said, giggling again.

"exactly."
