They were laughing. More importantly she was laughing. For the first time in what felt like years. The blonde boy observed the two distant figures who were laughing and chasing each other in the heavy rain. He smiled to himself and then left the two of them alone.

Jane’s giggles filled the grey sky. Her black dress clung to her worryingly thin body, but she didn’t care, she felt happy and alive for the first time in ages. She kicked water at Blaise’s face who was completely taken aback but then proceeded to send Jane and evil grin and then motioned to the large cold lake. “You wouldn’t?” She said taking a few steps back. “Oh I think I would, I am a slytherin after all” he said moving towards her. She sent out a shriek and then tried to run up the hill. Her little black shoes did not give her any advantage, she tripped and stumbled as she tried to clamber up the slippery hill. Blaise chased after her and grabbed her gaunt waist easily and threw her over his strong shoulder. “Zabini! Let me go!!” She cried out kicking his back with her small heels. “Oh I wish I could but where’s the fun in that?” he called back as the rain thundered down on them. He sped up and then proceeded to chuck her into the ice cold water just like the pebble he had thrown in minutes before.

She plunged into the cold water and the darkness surrounded her. She was walking down through a meadow covered in asphodel, bellflower, marigolds, white roses and tiny rue. Blue butterflies chasing each other in a friendly circle around her. She giggled at their innocence and started to look around her. The sun shone brightly making her hair sparkle and she smiled brightly to herself. That’s when she heard it. The soft call of her name. The voice. His voice calling her. “Jane” she couldn’t figure out where it was coming from. He kept on calling her each cry louder and more desperate than the last. She ran in any direction no idea where she was headed. The sky darkened and Jane became more scared and yet more focused on his voice, the voice she hadn’t heard in months. Out of the corner of her blue eye she saw a forest in the distance. She hesitated a guess and walked slowly towards the enormity of nearly black trees. The voice was clearer. She picked up speed. Her bare feet stumbling over each other. The sky was darker now and so was the meadow around her she noticed. The little blue butterflies had changed now into dark moths that flew violently around her head. She screamed and ran and ran, her breathing heavy and her heart feeling as if it was being torn apart. Cedric’s voice now echoed defiantly around the meadow, pushing Jane closer to the forest. She continued to run faster than her body would normally allow her until she reached the dark forest. She came to a sharp halt. There was now silence around her. The trees were close together. Too close. She looked up and saw that the trees were at least five times taller than her house. Her breathing was loud in her ear and she swallowed hard. ‘Come on Jane just one little step’ she said to herself.

“Jane!! Jane are you ok?” She heard in the distance, she snapped open her eyes, she was in the lake. She had been with Blaise and she was nowhere near a forest. She heard his panicked voice and decided to take revenge on his evil act. She let him call once more and then shot her fists in the air and pulled him into the lake. She returned to the surface, breathing heavily, swept her long wet hair off her face and turned to see a bewildered Blaise stick his head out of the water. “I think you forgot I’m a Malfoy” she smirked to him, trying to push her nightmare to the back of her mind. “Oh I could never forget that, you look to much like your brother” he said as they clambered out of the lake and lay on the shore looking up at the rain clouds, catching their breath. “Do you want me to push you in again?” she shot back at him. He merely shook his head. After laying there for a few minutes their brains finally woke up again “Bloody hell it’s cold” Blaise said standing up offering Jane a hand, which she took and pulled herself up. “Race you back?” she smirked at him.
