After Herbology Jane began a solitary walk to the edge of the forest for care of magical creatures her mind on what Luna had said. She was angry at the death of Cedric, of course she was, but she had accepted that he was dead now but the nightmares made her angry, Blaise was making her angry and so was Ginny. However she pushed the thoughts of vexation to the back of her mind and focused on the boring lesson while having to listen to Ginny and Maeve talk and laugh near her. She was the first one to leave the lesson and headed straight to the Great Hall where she found Harry, Ron and Hermione and sat with them while not really focusing on them but on her soup instead as they had been talking about grades and she immediately switched off. Fred, George and Lee soon joined them bringing her light relief only to have them continue the grade discussion however at the mention of Umbridge soon grasped her attention “You lot had an inspected lesson yet?” Fred had asked everyone, Jane merely shook her head while Hermione immediately replied “No, have you ?”

“Just now, before lunch,” George responded

“What was it like ?” Harry and Hermione hastily asked. Fred shrugged “Not that bad.” Jane immediately interrupted with “Not that bad ? That woman is pure evil wrapped up in a pink fluffy cardigan !” They all stared at her with odd looks before laughing and then Fred continued “As I was saying before I was rudely interrupted” with a sideways glance to Jane “Umbridge just lurked in the corner making notes on a clipboard. You know what Flitwick’s like, he treated her like a guest, didn’t seem to bother him at all.”

“I can’t see old Flitwick getting marked down,” said George, “he usually gets everyone through their exams all right.” While the others carried on talking about Umbridge, Fred quietly inquired how Jane was. Jane merely shrugged her shoulders for she didn’t know how to formulate an answer to that question, she never really knew how she was feeling at the moment apart from that she was not happy. “Do you want to go and walk?”

“God yes !” she replied hastily and the two got up and walked out the of the Great Hall. “I’m guessing you and Ginny haven’t made up then.’

“Nope.” Jane sighed picking the skin around her nail. “And why not ?” he asked her

“I don’t know I think she’s really mad at me this time, I’ve kind of been a bitch recently.”

“No kidding” he said earning him a light punch to the stomach, “No I take it back you’ve been nothing but pleasant recently.” She rolled her eyes at him before saying “Lets not talk about me, how are the snack boxes going ?”

“Pretty good although we’re still having some with the puking pastilles.” he said as they rounded the corner and came face to face with Cormac and his friends. “Look who it is !” Jamie shouted happily and proceeded to pick her up and spin her around, “Hey Jamie, how are you ?” she laughed as he put her down on the ground “I’m spectacular now that I’ve seen you, although Cormac’s probably more excited.” he said laughing and then earning a glare from Cormac. “Guys I think we should probably leave Mclaggen to it.” Jamie said “See you later Miss Malfoy !” he added with a wink to Jane, whose cheeks reddened as she laughed as the others left her alone with her ex and the guy she was kind of interested in. “Um Fred this Cormac Mclaggen, Cormac this Fred Weasley.”
