The next morning, we all woke up at around eight. We got up in our groggy states and made our way downstairs for breakfast. Brook's parents and both her sister were sat at the table eating either boles of cereal, toast or pancakes.
"Hey, Honey, there's pancake mix on the side if you want some. Heya girls, how was your night?" Brook's Mum asked us all.
"It was good, Mary, we had lots of fun!" Amanda replied, before Moose and Yak came over and began licking her hand, which was relaxed by her side. "Ew! Stop it, you cheeky mutts!" She screeched, quickly withdrawing her hand from the dogs' reach. We all laughed at her and sat down at the table, while Brook pored some of the pancake mix into the pan.
"Does anyone want chocolate chips or bacon in their pancakes?" Brook offered, getting the chocolate chips and bacon from the fridge.
"BACON!" I yelled in excitement, at the same time everyone else said their preference, making Brook chuckle.
"Only you, Key, only you." She shook her head, before tossing a rash of cooked back to each of the dogs.
"Dude, I don't think that's healthy." I suggested and Brook rolled her eyes ignoring me.
"Well, girls, it's the weekend, what are you going to do?" Brook's Dad, Kevin inquired, with his eyebrows pulled together, probably dreading the chaos his daughter was most likely to cause.
"We have a gathering this afternoon at Kent's, it's gonna be a real rager, Dad, you might have to patrol the area for any drugs or alcohol." Wait, what?
"Her Dad is a police officer, so he gets a bit jumpy when it comes to Brook and parties, especially with her, you know, happy-go-lucky personality." Amanda informed me, helping me out with my discombobulation.
"Don't tempt me, Brooklyn." Kevin warned her, not looking up from his toast.
"Do you want to come this afternoon, Lucy, or do you have other plans?" I asked my sister. If she came, I would get Lock to ask Jamie if he wanted to go, but knowing him, he was probably going to go rave at his friend's house like the popular guy he was.
"No, I've got to go to Joanna's house, she invited me over and I said I would go." Lucy told me and I nodded with a smile on my face, it was good to know she had made up with Joanna.
"What time are you going to the gathering?" Mary asked us, looking at each of us individually and waiting for an answer.
"Some point in the afternoon; Lock texted me last night and told me the boys had had a boys' night, just as we had had a girls', and said that they were preparing for the 'party'." I explained, what I didn't say was that Mum wasn't too happy to hear that we weren't going to be home for most of the day. She claimed she 'missed us'. Pfft, yeah right, she just wants us home so we can do chores. Typical Mother.
"Ok, well are you going to be here for lunch?"
"No, I'm gonna treat them all to a cheeky Nando's." Brook said, taking a debit card from her purse and flashing it around.
"Careful Brook, or a certain some, cough, me, might steal that right out of your hand without you even noticing. Remember I know your pin number." Brook's sister, Lizzy, interjected.
