Alex POV

There she was. Flesh and blood. Overwhelmed by the fact she has a daughter that is her best friend. I couldn't believe she didn't recognize me. And... And... The Doctor. He is my father? That's impossible. I was walking behind him and Rory. Rory was carrying Amy and The Doctor was carrying River. I walked with my head down and no one spoke the entire way to the TARDIS. I opened the door because I had the key. I set it on the console and helped Doctor carry River to her room. Then we both walked out to the console room. I sat down on the rail and put my head in my hands. I guess the Doctor went underneath the console because when I pulled my hands up, I was the only one in the console room. "Alone. Alone again." I said quietly and got up. I walked to my room. I felt the Doctor peeking up from underneath the console, watching me walk away. I got into my room and drew on my sketch pad. The man from my dream. How could he be my father? Either one of them? The Doctor or the man. I wrote a word in french on the bottom of the page. Allons-y. It is the word I hear in my dream. It means 'lets go'. I heard a knock on my door. "Alex? Can I come in?" It was Rory. "Erm... Ok." He opened the door and sat on my bed next to me. "Are you alright?" He said, staring down at the floor. "Yeah. I suppose so. I just don't understand one thing. But it's more of a question for the Doctor." I need to find out something. "Well, I'm sure I could try at it. Come on, then." He was confident. He tried to make me smile. Even though he just lost his fiancé, he sure can bring on smiles. "Ok so when the note said I was the Doctor's daughter, how is that possible? I mean, I can see my father in my dreams and he looks nothing like the Doctor." I looked at him, hoping for something. A hug. Anything. "Oh. You're right. That is more of the Doctor's field of work... Erm... Well I do know that the note was sent by a vortex manipulator because of the flash it made. So it must have been sent from the future because all cortex manipulators were brought back either to the present time stream or the future." He got up and faced me. "But I am sure the Doctor can clear all of this up for you. Right now, he is trying to get some of River and Amy's DNA samples from the control unit underneath the console to save the two. I have to go check on Amy." He smiled and walked out, leaving the door wide open. I guess I can go talk to the Doctor. I got up and walked out of my room and down the hallway to the console room. "Doctor? Can I ask you something?" I yelled, not quite sure where he was. I saw him peek up from the control unit. "Yes. What is it?" I hesitated but decided to tell him. I walked down underneath the console and sat on the floor. "So if you are my father, then why is there another man in my dreams holding hands with my mother? And why do I keep drawing him? And what is up with this word repeated over and over in my head?" I spilled out the questions like a rocket launcher. He smiled and walked over to me. "Alex, I know for a fact that the man in your dreams is your father. You keep drawing him because he is your father and what word are you talking about?" He answered at the same speed as I asked them. "Ok, how are you my father, though?" He looked puzzled, or confused. I was about to ask why he was confused, but then he answered. "Do you remember when River regenerated but then looked different? Like your mother?" I nodded. "Well, I am also a Time Lord. Only Time Lords can regenerate. You see me in a different form in your dream. Now tell me about that word you mentioned." I didn't really understand, but I'll let is sink in. "Allons-y. It means lets go in french. It comes like an echo in my dreams." I pulled my sketch pad from my pocket and showed the Doctor the picture I drew with 'Allons-y' all around the face. He studied it. "That is brilliant, Alex!! Where did you learn to draw?" He was mesmerized by my drawing of him in his last regeneration. "I-I just picked it up by River. She had a phase where all she did was draw. She drew your sonic and her blaster. She drew Amy and Rory. She drew you. It was all after she graduated high school. She kept saying she had a hole in her heart but couldn't fill it. The only thing that made her even the slightest bit of happy was drawing you three." I stopped talking. I was about to cry. The Doctor pulled me up and into a hug. "There is just one other thing. How come if you and River are my parents, why am I not a Time Lord?" I still held onto him. "You are lost in time. There is no telling what you are going to grow up to be. You know, at heart, you are only 13. But I do believe there is Time Lord in you because Riv said that you were there every time she was reborn. In all the lives she has had, you were there, always one year older." "So does that mean that every time she regenerated, I regenerated with her?"
