I still hung onto him. I untied the bow tie off our hands and put it back on him. He let go slowly and straightened it. "Now. Let's go save our girl." He said smiling. He grabbed my hand and the four of us ran down the hallway. When we got to Alex's room, I looked at the Doctor. He grabbed the door handle and smiled at me. "Ready?" I nodded. We walked in. "Ok. Remember when you focused your energy for Amy? You need to do that exact same thing, but we have to combine our energy." I nodded. "Ok." "Doctor? Exactly what is it you are doing?" Amy asked, clearly not caught up yet. "We are going to save Alex." He said with confidence in his voice. He smiled. "Ready?" I nodded. We both closed our eyes. I got up all the strength I could and pulled the energy out of me. For all I know, I could be using my last regeneration, but I don't care. My daughter needs me. The Doctor and I both screamed in pain. We opened our eyes and combined the gold flashes of light coming out of our hands into a huge ball of glittering light. Then, we thrusted it at Alex. Her core bent up as her body absorbed the energy. I couldn't hold it anymore. "DOCTOR!!! I CAN'T- CAN'T HOLD IT!!!" I screamed. "YOU HAVE TO!! OUR DAUGHTER IS DEPENDING ON US!!!" He yelled back. I held it. Held in the pain. After a while, the Doctor's energy weakened and so did mine. We stopped and I threw myself into his arms. I looked over at Alex. "She's still glowing. How is that possible?" The Doctor asked. "It worked. She's absorbing the energy. IT WORKED!!!" I yelled in excitement and jumped onto the Doctor. We both smiled. I looked back over at Alex. She was covered in light. We couldn't see her body. "Doctor? What exactly is that?" Rory said, pointing at Alex. "It's Alex. She has taken regeneration energy from us to be reborn. She won't look the same though. She will be back to her childhood form, because that is truly how old she is. She is only about-" I cut the Doctor off. "Six. That's how many lives she has been in with me, each time she is a year older." I finally put all the pieces together. The light died down, then one final flash of blinding light shot out of her body and she banged onto the floor. She looked different, but still I knew who she was. "Alex?" She got up, dusted off her shoulders and pulled her arms straight out . "Hello Mummy. Hello Daddy." Her accent was back. Strong and clear. Her hair wasn't ginger anymore. It was a dark brown with light blonde highlights, a combination of mine and the Doctor's. She ran over and hugged us. "Oh, Alex. Never do that again." Alex nodded. She was so much shorter than she was earlier. About three and a half feet shorter. I looked over to Amy. I'm making sure no one else looses their children ever again. I want to grow up as a girl who knows her parents, not the girl who had to find her parents.
