"Dad? Why on Earth are you dressed like that?" Alex looked really confused. And amused. To be honest, I haven't seen him like this in a very long time. It made me laugh, too. I stood back, watching the Doctor as he smiled and held his arms out, exposing his suit. "A bow tie. I'm wearing a bow tie-" Amy, Rory and I cut him off. We knew exactly what he was going to say. "BOW TIES ARE COOL!!!" Amy and Rory got up and hugged him. So did I. "Ok, am I missing out on something, here?" Alex interrupted. Amy and Rory looked from the Doctor to me. We both nodded. "Alex, what do you know about time travel?" Amy asked Alex. "Only that it's physically impossible. The circular movement between minutes are too dense and no one has ever been able to accomplish it." Alex had no idea. "Well, my dear, you are looking at the one man who has not only proved time travel, but ruined time for a while, saved every innocent species in the universe, died a few times, got over-ridden by robotic technology twice, and who is the oldest man in time." I explained. "If I remember clearly, it was you who ruined time, dear, and I looked fantastic while saving it." The Doctor replied. "Shut up." I replied. Alex started laughing. In between breaths, she said something. "Is. This. A. Joke? You. Lot. Are. Killing. Me." She didn't believe. I smacked the Doctor on the shoulder. "All your fault." "What the hell did I do?" "Made me fall in love with you." I smacked him again. "And that one?" "Agreeing with me to keep her away from time travel." I smacked him harder. "WHAT?!?" "Just because. It's fun." He rolled his eyes and rubbed his shoulder. I nodded my head towards Alex and mouthed "Fix it. Your problem." He mouthed back "Our kid." "Together." We both said. "Alex. We are not joking. Follow us." I said. She took The Doctor's hand and we walked upstairs into the attic. Amy and Rory followed. "We have an attic?" The TARDIS was right inside the door. "Open it." I said. The Doctor reached for the handle. I smacked his shoulder really hard. Through my gritted teeth, I said "Not you, Alex!!" He rubbed his shoulder. Alex looked at us and reached her shaky hand for the knob and gripped it. "Go on." The Doctor said. She turned it slowly. "Wh-Why? H-How did a Police Phone Box get in our house?" She was alarmed. "What does it have to do with the time travel thing?" "That, Alex, is the TARDIS. It is a time machine. Well, a time and space machine. Well, a time and space vehicle." Alex pushed on the doors. It opened into a normal phone box. She turned and looked at us with an annoyed look. "Really?" She said. "Oh. Sorry. She doesn't recognize you." The Doctor walked over, closed the door, and snapped his fingers. The doors swung open and the inside of the TARDIS was revealed. Alex's jaw dropped. "But-But... How is this even possible? It's bigger. On the inside. The laws of physics explain a small space is physically unable to hold a volume greater than itself. This is physically impossible." "All you needed to say was bigger on the inside. That's what they all said." He said, going around the console, flipping on lights. "Doctor? Look what I found." I picked up the sonic, covered in dust, that was lying on the console. "HAHA!!" He jumped and ran over to me, grabbed the sonic, and kissed me. "River, you. Are. BRILLIANT!! I LOVE YOU!!" "Alex, dear. Why don't you come in?" She was still in the doorway, going over the science to disprove the TARDIS. "Alex. It's real. It all is. You'll get used to the bigger on the inside. And the wibbly-wobbly. Timey-wimey. I know. Confusing." Rory spoke up. He nudged her in gently and she moved a few steps. She was muttering to herself, ruffling her hair out of her face, and looking around the TARDIS. "Doctor. I think she needs proof. Alex, what is a place you have always wanted to go? Any place, any time." I said. She wasn't listening. "ALEX!!" She shook her head. "Sorry. But how is this all possible?" "It just is. And answer my question. Where is it all over space and time that you've always wanted to go?" "Um.. I guess I've always wanted to see Florence, Italy. For some reason, I keep hearing it said in my mind." Her voice dropped and she went back to thinking out loud. I looked at the Doctor and rolled my eyes. "Right then. Florence. I hear it's wonderful this time of year. Take your seats everyone. We are going on a little trip." He winked at me and flipped on a switch. "The brake, dear." I said, entering in coordinates into the TARDIS computer. "If you don't like it, then turn it off and stop messing with my TARDIS." Oh, I've missed that. We started to land. The TARDIS seemed faster than I remember. I guess she was excited to be used. "Here we are. Florence, Italy. Far from Venice..." The Doctor said. "Wait one second." He disappeared into one of the hallways. A minute later, he waltzed out with a black and white suit, black top hat, bow tie, and a black cane. "My traditional celebratory clothes." He walked over to the door, faced me, and offered me his arm. "Now, dear. Shall we be off?" I walked into a room, quickly changed my clothes, and walked back out. I put on the long black dress I wore the last night I regenerated. I walked over to the Doctor and said "I'm ready. Amy? Rory? Alex? Are we all ready?" Amy and Rory nodded and headed towards the door. "Where are we going? We are still in the attic-" she walked over to the door and opened it. She stood stunned in the doorway. "Florence. I'm in Florence, Italy!!! HA HA!!! This is BRILLIANT!!!" She ran out of the TARDIS and spun around. I looked at the Doctor and he looked at me. He offered me his arm again, I took it and he said "Geronimo!!" And we all walked out into Italy.
