The Concert

Before I snuck out of the house to go to the Neighbourhood concert, Mrs. Galloway and Timothy came over to our house for another play date.

I was forced to apologize to Mrs. Galloway for my behavior at Carson's birthday party two weeks before. I did so while faking my niceness, hoping that my dad would somehow let me go to the concert, but there was no way to break him.

After I apologized for no reason, I was forced to play Monopoly with Carson and Timothy. Timothy won, but I hated board games anyway.

The concert started at 10:00, and it was 7:00, but I wanted to get there early. So, I told my parents I was going to bed early that night, which they bought, but actually went to my bedroom to get dressed.

I told Macy to park three houses down from ours so my parents wouldn't see her car.

As soon as I was dressed and had everything I needed, I climbed out of the window, onto the garage roof, and down the tree beside it. I tip toed my way past the next door neighbor's house, careful not to alert their dog, but the dog started barking with my luck. So, I starting running to her car.

On the way there, Macy drove over the speed limit for once. I was proud of her for overcoming her fear. We were on track to get there at 9:15, but an obstacle was thrown in our way. We ran out of gas.

We pulled over on the interstate. We started walking to the next exit because there was no way we were calling our parents.

When we got to the nearest gas station, there were bikers there. We bought a can of gas, and as we left, the bikers started talking to us. Hitting on us I should say.

They said some pretty horrific things, but the last thing they said was, "C'mon, let's just go for a ride!" Then, the woman that worked at the gas station came outside and told them to stop.

We were gone from the car for almost  thirty minutes, but when we returned, we put the gas in and drove off quickly.

We got to the concert at 9:40, and luckily, were still placed in the front row.

"There are so many people here!" Macy screamed. I couldn't hear her because it was too loud. "What?" I yelled. "There's so many people!" She replied. I could hear her that time. "Oh, yeah." I responded.

There they were, on stage, right before my eyes. Jesse Rutherford, Jeremy Freedman, Zach Abels, Mikey Margott, and Brandon Fried.

"The drummer's name is Brandon, right?" Macy asked. "Yeah." I replied. "He's kinda cute!" Macy exclaimed. "They all are!" I added.

As they began to play "Baby Came Home", I blankly stared at Zach, one of their guitarists.

"I saw you looking at the guitarist!" Macy teased. "Shut up!" I responded. "You think he's cute, don't you!" She added. "Well, yeah... Obviously!" I started to say, "He's got a nice face..." "He's got a nice face?" Macy mocked, then bursted out laughing. "It's not funny! Shut up so I can hear the music." I demanded. "I bet all you can hear are the moaning noises in your mind..." She commented, then moaned, "Oh, Zach!"

Zach must have heard Macy, because he looked over towards us with a weird face when she moaned.

I covered her mouth and said, "Shut up, please! We get it. I think he's hot, no big deal." She finally stopped talking after that.

During one of their songs, the band did a lot of moving around. Hands were flying everywhere, and apparently so were rings. Zach had a big ring on his right hand, and it accidentally got lost in the crowd. It fell on the floor near me, and I was the only one who saw, so I picked it up.

After the concert, everyone left almost immediately, except for the people with V.I.P. passes. I still had the ring in my hand. Giving it back to him was the right thing to do, after all, I'd want my ring back too if I were him. So, Macy and I stayed in the arena.

A guard of some type came out into the main part of the arena, where we were. He saw I had the ring and said, "Okay, since you have his ring, you can come backstage and meet them. Just hurry up, and make sure you return the ring, I've got things to do!" I could tell he was from Boston because of his accent.

Macy looked at me and squealed, I think I kinda did too. I didn't know what to do! We followed the guard backstage into a room.

All of the band members were back there, signing autographs and taking pictures with fans.

I looked at Zach, and as he finished signing the last autograph, he turned his head and saw me. Our eyes met.
