The next day it was Friday, the first day of spring break. Everyone at my school called it "Almost-Spring Break" because it wasn't spring yet. In fact, it was March 6th.
Zach and I planned to go on a road trip together with the band. So, when I got home that day, I packed up my things up, took a shower, and rode a bus to the city. When I got off, Zach was waiting for me. He took me to their tour bus and I loaded my things on it.
"We came up with some rules for you while you're on our bus." Brandon said. "What are they?" I asked. "First of all, none of us are allowed to go number two in the bathroom. You cannot spray perfume or any girly-smelling spray on the bus, you cannot annoy us on this bus, and you have to clean up after yourself." Jesse stated. "Sounds fair." I responded. "Oh, and you and Zach cannot do any sexual activities on this bus." Jeremy added. I looked behind Jesse to see Zach hiding the smile on his face. "Okay." I said. "Okay, let's hit the road!" Jesse exclaimed.
We were going to the Florida Keys, a 24 hour trip, but longer with stops.
After an hour of driving, Zach came up front where I was sitting and asked, "Hey, what are you doing?" "On Snapchat." I replied. He sat down next to me. I kissed him.
Jesse came up front where we were and said, "Dude, you gotta check out this video of Rosie singing!" "You sing? You didn't tell me you can sing too!" Zach asked me. "Yeah... Kinda." I replied.
Jesse showed Zach a video of me singing "Listen To Your Heart" by DHT when I was 10. "Awe! You were so cute!" Zach told me. "Do you like hip hop?" Jesse asked me. "Yeah, I love it!" I replied. "Have you heard Pulled Up by Young Dolph?" Jesse asked. "Yeah, it's a pretty good song." I said. "Dude, she's dope." Jesse told Zach. "I know." Zach responded, in a jealous type of way. Zach put his arm around me, then Jesse left.
A few hours later, Zach was in the backroom and I was still alone up front. I turned on the TV to an interview channel and saw Matty Healy. Zach, Jesse, Jeremy, Mikey, and Brandon all came up front when they heard his voice. "What's this asshole gotta say for himself?" Jesse asked.
Matty added, "Oh, I forgot one thing... Zach Abels' girlfriend is extremely hot. If you're watching, hello, love." Matty blew a kiss.
"I'm about to beat his ass up!" Zach yelled. "Bro, he's trying to make you mad." Brandon commented. "Yeah, don't let him make you mad..." I added, then started laughing. Jesse, Jeremy, Mikey, and Brandon started laughing too. "It's not funny!" Zach exclaimed. "Baby, calm down." I said. "Whatever." He responded.
An hour later, everyone was up front. I went to the bathroom for the first time on the trip. When I looked up at the wall, I saw a picture of Zach in there. "Oh my fuck." I commented on it. I went back up front. I tapped Zach on the shoulder, and signaled him to go to the backroom with me. We managed to sneak away from playing a video game without them noticing.
"What?" He asked. I kissed him. "I love you." He said. "I love you too." I added. "We can't escape anywhere!" He commented. I laughed.
Everyone was up playing games, but I was tired. "I want to go to sleep now." I told Zach. "Okay, let's go." He said. "You can stay up if you want to, I'm just really tired." I explained. "Okay, you can sleep in my bunk." He stated. I got my night clothes on and laid down in Zach's bunk.
I heard Brandon say, "I guess we can't call your bunk 'the Jack shack' anymore!" Then I fell asleep.
When I woke up, Zach was laying beside me sleeping. He wasn't a loud snorer, but he snored, and he was cute when he was sleeping.
I didn't want to wake him but I had to pee really bad, so I lifted myself over him to get out. I went to the bathroom, and when I got out, he was awake. "Good morning, babe." He said. "Good morning." I said, then laid back down next to him. He closed the curtain and kissed me. Then, we were sporking, which was a bit uncomfortable.
"Give me some blanket, I'm cold!" He exclaimed. I took my soft blanket and wrapped it around us, then turned around to face him. "I can't believe Matthew." He said. "Shh!" I whispered, "It doesn't matter because I love you!" "I love you too, babe." He responded. "I kinda want to go into the backroom and make out, but I don't want to leave this bed." I commented. "Let's go bone... I mean, go to the backroom! And take the blankets." He added. "You're mouth needs autocorrect!" I joked. He laughed and responded, "No, I think that's what I wanted to say, I just realized mid-way I shouldn't have." "We could... if you want to?" I asked while kissing him. "Really?" He exclaimed. "No." I replied. "Ah, you're such a tease!" He responded.
We took the blanket, went to the backroom and laid down. We both fell asleep again.
"Wakey, wakey! Sleepy heads!" Jesse exclaimed as he woke us up. "Is there breakfast?" Zach asked. "Well... No." Jesse replied. "Then go away!" Zach yelled. Zach cuddled up to me more. I hid my face under the blanket. He tried to kiss me, but I pushed his face away and said, "I have to go brush my teeth... and take a shower!" "Can I get in with you?" He whispered. "No." I whispered back. "It was worth a try." He responded. We both laughed.
"What are you two whispering about over there?" Brandon asked. "Nothing!" I replied. "Okay... I got my eyes on you." Brandon commented. Zach and I laughed.
While I was in the shower, Zach knocked on the door. He told me they were all going to go into a diner, eat, and bring me back some food.
When I got out, I realized I didn't grab my bag, so I walked out of the bathroom in only a towel to get it.
When I was grabbing my bag, Zach walked on the bus, saw me and said, "Hey." "Shit! You scared me!" I exclaimed. "I brought you some food..." He commented as he looked me up and down. "Thanks... I was just getting my clothes. You can just set it down somewhere." I responded.
I went back into the bathroom and got dressed. When I got out of the bathroom, Zach was sitting in the backroom with my phone in his hand. "I just had an interesting talk with Samuel, your ex..." He said. "Why? Did he call my phone?" I asked. "Yeah, and apparently, he's been calling your phone." He replied. "I told him to leave me alone!" I yelled. "No, I don't think you did, because he told me you guys have been talking." He responded.
"Yes, I did tell him to leave me alone. But yes, I have been talking to him. I bet he failed to mention the part where his mom just died. Zach, I'm not interested in him anymore, I don't even really like him as a friend." I stated. "What happened, anyway?" He asked. "We dated for five years. Then, he cheated on me last winter. It didn't take me long to get over him, if you were wondering, because I didn't actually love him. We were friends for a long time, like ten years, but we screwed it up by seeing if we could be more. If I was talking to him, it would be as a friend. Plus, his mom just died, don't you think it's the right thing to do?" I explained. "Yeah, you're right." He responded.
"He doesn't exist, let alone, matter in my life. I love you, and only you! I want to cut this shit out, this whole drama thing. Whether it's me getting mad about the party, or you about Matty and Samuel. They have nothing on you!" I exclaimed. "I love you." He said. "I love you too, baby." I said. He hugged me. "Next time, don't worry about Samuel. He twists things up, and I can never tell if he's doing it on purpose or on accident. He always gets what he wants." I added and rolled my eyes. "He's not getting you." He stated as he looked into my eyes with his hand on the back of my neck.
