I woke up the next morning in a good mood, even though it was Monday.
When I got to school, Macy ran up to me and said, "You have to tell me everything about your first date with Zach!" "There's not much to tell!" I responded. "Did he kiss you?" She asked. "Yes..." I replied and smiled.
She jerked me back and forth in excitement. "What are going to do on the next date?" She asked. "I don't know." I replied. "Well, you do know what they say about guitarists?" She asked. "No, what do they say?" I questioned. "They're good with their hands." Macy replied and smirked. I laughed and said, "I have to go to class, bye!" "Okay, bye." She said.
When I was in French class, Zach texted me, "Good morning." "It's 12:30?" I replied. "I know, I laid in bed for a few hours." He explained. "I'll call you when I go to lunch?" I suggested. "K cool." He replied.
I went to lunch at 1:00. After I finished eating, I called Zach.
"Hey." He answered. "Hi." I said. Then he hung up. I was really confused, but then he FaceTimed me.
I fixed my hair quickly, then answered it.
"Hey." He said. "Hi... I bet you're glad you don't have to go to school anymore." I commented. "Yeah, I am." He responded and laughed. I laughed too because I didn't know what else to say.
Macy approached the table I was sitting at and said, "You should ask him if he's good with his hands." She chuckled, then walked around the table to see I was FaceTiming him and exclaimed, "Oh, shit! I'm so sorry. I didn't know you were there!"
He smiled and hid his face. "Macy!" I yelled. "What! I meant playing the piano. You should ask him if he can play the piano... You could do a duet or something.... No? Okay, I have to get to class now!" She said, then left in a hurry.
"I am so sorry!" I stated. He started laughing hard, then said, "It's cool." I started laughing. "I gotta go, Jesse's calling for a 'group meeting', whatever that means. Catch ya later, babe." He said and winked. I bit my lip and said, "Bye." I hung up.
I died inside, I couldn't handle it. When he called me "babe", I was done for good.
We texted, called, and FaceTimed each other all week. He even followed me on Instagram and Twitter. But the best part was when he asked me out in a proper, manly way, even though it was only to go to the movies.
On Friday night, we went to see an action movie.
Before the movie started, we stood in line for food. "What do you want?" He asked. "Gummy bears, what do you want?" I replied. "Nachos, I don't really like popcorn." He responded. "I don't either, it gets stuck in my teeth." I commented.
It was a tough fight to win, but he eventually let me pay for everything.
When the movie started, we were sitting down. He didn't hold his hand out for me to hold like a typical guy on a movie date does, he just grabbed my hand and held it.
I knew I only knew him for a week, but I really liked him. I liked his style, he didn't tip-toe around, and he knew what he wanted. He always gave me his undivided attention. He never acted better than me, even though he was semi-famous and I was a nobody, but he constantly let me know I was somebody to him.
After the movie, we went walking through the park nearby. We held hands as we walked and talked.
"I think I lost my phone." He commented. "Let me call it to see if it's on us." I said. I called his phone. It rang from inside my purse. I dug in my purse, pulled his phone out, and saw "Milkshake" was calling him.
"Is this my contact name?" I asked and giggled. "Yeah..." He replied. "Why?" I asked. "Cuz of your body..." He answered. "What about my body?" I questioned. "Cuz you're thick like a milkshake." He replied. I giggled and bit my lip. "I think it's hot when you bite your lip." He commented.
And I thought it was hot when he licked his lips. To be honest, I always thought he was hot.
We eventually sat down on a bench in front of the beautiful lake.
"I really, really like you, and I want an exclusive relationship with you. You're outstandingly smart, incredibly beautiful, and the nicest person I know. You're just amazing overall, you're perfect, and too good for me. You deserve more than what I can give you..." He commented, then stared at the ground.
I turned his head towards me and said, "I want what you can give me." He ran his fingers through my hair as he kissed me passionately.
As we were walking back to my car, I asked, "So... When do you guys leave?" "Next Thursday, sadly." He replied. "I'm really gonna miss you!" I added. "Me too... I'm gonna call you everyday, and come back as soon as I can!" He exclaimed.
When we got back to the hotel, we went up to his room to find Jesse, Jeremy, Mikey, and Brandon all in there.
"Why are you guys in my room?" Zach asked. "If you want us to leave... We can leave!" Jeremy said. "Yeah, I want you guys to leave." Zach responded. "Okay, and I left you some almond butter on the table." Mikey commented. "You're such a fucking weirdo!" Jesse said. "Hey! Don't judge the butter." Mikey yelled at Jesse. "Whatever, dude." Jesse responded and walked out of the room. They all walked out.
Zach closed the door behind them and said, "I don't even know why they are always in my room!" "It's fine." I said and laughed.
I stood at the bottom of the bed. He slowly walked up next to me, then kissed me. He wasn't much taller than me, only by about three inches, but it was good kissing height.
We sat down on the bed and made out for awhile. Then, the TV turned on to SpongeBob, because Zach accidentally pressed the remote with his butt.
"Let's watch something." I suggested.
We laid down on our stomachs, on the bed next to each other, and watched Full House. Our feet kinda touched, it was really weird body language.
"So, I forgot to mention the part where I got an early acceptance into NYU." I said. "That's great!" He responded. "Well, I also got into Berkeley, but it's just that I've been wanting to go to NYU for a long time." I explained. "It would be great if you went to school somewhere in California, but I don't want you to give up your dream. What do you want to be?" He asked. "A writer of some type." I replied. "I can see that." He commented and smiled at me.
"What do you think you would be if you weren't in The Neighbourhood?" I asked. "I don't really know. I can't really see myself being anything other than a guitarist... I'm not much more than that." He replied. "Yes, you are! I can see you in the technology field." I said. "Well, I do like playing video games." He said and chuckled.
The next Thursday came very quickly. As they were about to leave, I went to Zach's rooms to say "Happy Valentine's Day" and give him a goodbye hug and kiss. "Goodbye." I said. "Catch ya later, babe." He said.
I was sad to see him go, but I knew I could hold on to the Valentine's Day bear until he returned.
