Chapter 37: The Last Investigation

"You're helping me investigate?" I asked, shocked.

"Yes." Hope nodded. "You'll need all the help you can get."

I shrugged. "If you say so..."

We went into one room, it looked like a Master bedroom at one point, with a king sized bed with drapes surrounding the bed, dressers, a door to a washroom and a closet with fancy doors.

The only thing that was off... Everything was broken and scattered around and blood covered a lot of the room. "Oh god..." I breathed.

"This may have had something to do with The-Most-Despairing-Incident-In-Minecraftian-History... It would make sense with the destruction and blood." Hope observed.

I nodded and looked though a few drawers that were still intact. "What is..." I muttered.

Hope floated over to me. "Is this a... Picture?"

There was everyone alive... Looking very happy. You couod see windows in the background which shocked me. I scanned the picture, looking for me and I couldn't find me. Strange... Is everyone else working for the Mastermind? Sure looks like it...

"Lets get going to a different room." Hope interrupted my thoughts.

"Mm." I nodded.

There was really not anything else interesting on the top floor so we went to the floor below us. We decided to go into the Broadcast room. I was never here before so I was a bit shocked on what was in here. What the security cameras were seeing we could see. There was a flat screen by me and I was on it with a caption that said, 'Astronaut finds the Broadcast room! What a shock he gets!' I shook my head, turned and went over to the study.

Jerome was in there, looking at some files. "Hey Jerome." I greeted.

"Oh hi Jason, hi Hope." He looked at me and Hope and smiled.

I was still a bit suspicious of him because of that picture so I decided to keep my guard up. "Is something wrong?" Jerome asked. "You look worried."

"No, no, I'm fine." I shook my head.

"Ok, then." Jerome nodded. "Whatever you say."

"What are you looking at Jerome?" Hope floated over to Jerome.

"Eh, just some files." Jerome shrugged. "Its just some news clippings and... What is..."

A usb chip fell out of the file. I picked it up. "Let's get to the broadcast room."

We put the chip into one of the computers.

There was a large white building with fire, despair and destruction everywhere. It was terrible. There were people running around, with Herobrine masks... Murdering each other. Oh... Oh god...
Then you could see Notch through a window.
Then... Then you could see a silhouette of a guy and-

BLIP!

"Oh, how sad!" Herobrine was beside the computer. "A malfunction! Why do these things happen at the most inconvenient times! Tsk, tsk, computers!"

Me and Jerome glared at him. We couldn't really tell if Hope was because... Well, we really couldn't see his face. "Oh, what's wrong?" Herobrine asked with fake sadness.

"You did that on purpose!" Jerome growled.

"You did that just because you didn't want us to see who that was!" I shouted. "It was the Mastermind wasn't it!?"

"Woah! Look at the time!" Herobrine said nervously. "Gotta run!"

We really didn't find much else. Then...

"Final investigation time is up! Ok everyone, make your way to the trial room!" Herobrine laughed. "It's time for your final trial!"
