Reunions

The trip back was a lot more pleasant.They had found a way back up to the surface and got back on the right path.

Soon enough,they were back in a familiar place,on the path to Reuben's grave.

"Yes!"Jesse put her fist in the air."We're getting Reuben back!"

"Hey Jesse,can I hold the potion?"Axel asked.

"Of course not."Jesse scowled,hugging the potion.

"Please?"

"No!"

"Jesse."Axel's voice changed."Give me the potion."

Petra ran in front of Axel.

"What are you doing?"Petra asked.

"Give me the potion.Now."Axel pushed past Petra and in front of Jesse.

"Just becuase you told me where the map was doesn't mean you get to hold it!"Jesse practically snarled.

Wait. Petra froze.

"It was you!"Olivia yelled.

"Jesse,give me the potion!"Axel demanded.

Axel reached for Jesse,but she avoided him and punched him in the gut.Olivia pushed Axel.

"Jesse,if you won't give the potion to Axel,then give it to me."

Someone walked up to the group.

"Ivor?"Petra raised an eyebrow.

"Give me the potion."Ivor ignored Petra.

"Why do you need it?"Jesse asked.

Axel backed up.

"I owe Magnus."Ivor's voice was filled with sadness."It's my fault he's dead."

"Well,Reuben's dead too!"Jesse shrieked.

"Wait,wait."Petra cut in.

She gave both Ivor and Jesse a look.

"So,Ivor,were you the one who gave us the books?"Petra said.

"Yes.And I made a deal with Axel."Ivor explained.

Jesse looked over at Axel.

"You want Magnus back...more than Reuben?"Jesse choked.

Olivia's eyes filled up with outrage and she glared at Axel,who had his hands up.

"Reuben died a hero,his story is over.Magnus still has to make up for the lies."Axel justified.

Ivor was so quick that Petra didn't notice him.He swung a fist at her face an it connected.She fell.Ivor got his hands on the potion and then he and Jesse were battling for a life-Reuben's or Magnus's.

And then all hands slipped.

The potion went spiralling through the air.

"No!"Jesse yelled.
