Amelia Lewis was successful and powerful, a strong woman who had made it in New York City as an important business lawyer. She had clear objectives and impactful results, stubborn and goal oriented she wouldn't back down from a good fight or in her life a challenging case. She was always determined to win and that was proven to be what she could do. Being a woman in a man's world was not easy but she had earned respect and a good position in the business, making her one of the best.
In her line of work she was used to dealing with important, powerful and cocky people but those notions would be challenged by Harvey Specter; the ever so confident and skillful lawyer.

The alarm on my phone went off, I got up to admire a breathtaking view of the skyline. I always loved the big city, ever since I was a little girl I found it enticing and inviting and now it was a part of me and I wouldn't change it for a thing. It made me feel alive and energized every morning.
After showering, choosing an appropriate work outfit: classic royal blue pencil skirt, black heels and a black blouse. Eating something quick for breakfast, some makeup and hair and I was off to work. Just another day, I thought to myself, as I walked into my office and my assistant Tina informed me of my first appointments of the day. She was a godsend, like my second brain, always reliable and I could trust her with anything.
"Morning Amelia, today remember the Harrison merger is finalized and also you have an appointment with Harvey Specter to discuss the Norman case, the appointment is at 10:30 just after you finalize the Harrison merger and Mr. Norman will be here at 10 :15 for you to talk before the meeting. Then you have lunch with Mrs. Andersen at MTA at 12:30 she said it was important over the phone so you know what's up."
"She says she's going to file for divorce...again... then she will call me and say everything is fine and not file"
"Exactly"
"I love them both but they are a handful" I laughed and Tina followed "Thank you Tina let Mr. Harrison and his lawyer in in 10 minutes"
" Will do" she responded in a cheerful tone of voice, she had a lot of energy for a Monday morning

As I walked into conference room A with Mr. Norman, I knew this meeting wouldn't be easy. He was planning on buying another company in the food industry and that's why I was meeting with Harvey Specter and Ms. Pope owner of the company in question. I hadn't met Harvey Specter, well actually I had but it was at a few cocktail parties and it was nothing more than a hello so really it didn't count, but I had obviously heard of him. He was a big lawyer, professional, resourceful and very respected with a reputation of always wanting to win and negotiating big. I knew I was perfectly capable of handling him, I am very confident and I know what I'm doing but only a fool wouldn't accept that it was a big case and that it would't be a walk in the park.
"Good Morning" I said in a confident yet serene voice "Ms. Pope Mr. Specter" I shook both of their hands with a firm grip and Mr. Norman did the same, we both took a seat on the other side of the glass table and I proceeded with the meeting "We would like to start with this offer" I said as I slid a folder with a number that we were willing to pay for Ms. Pope's company across the table
"Very well Ms. Lewis now give me a real offer" Harvey said as he slid the folder right back at me after a quick glance, now I knew he wouldn't take that offer, after all every good negotiator starts with a low price
"Mr. Specter, that is a real offer and I believe you didn't even give the chance to Ms. Pope of looking at it"
"She doesn't need to because I'm her lawyer and I know how much her company is worth so please let's not waste our time and give me a real offer" He said sternly
"Look, we both know her company was worth a lot more 4 months ago but with Mrs. Pope passing...I'm sorry for your loss Ms. Pope" I said looking at the daughter of the former owner of the company and softening my voice"I'm afraid the market value of the company has dropped" I put my eyes back on Harvey with a more sharp voice
"The death of Mrs. Pope was unfortunate but my client is perfectly capable of managing the company like she has done for a long time now helping her mother"
"I'm sure she is but investors are still weary of that and my client is offering that security they want"
"Investors are perfectly secure with Ms.Pope taking over her mothers company so don't you worry about that" Harvey said in a patronizing way, which bothered me immensely "I believe your client has a real interest in purchasing this company but until you get me a real offer on the table I'm afraid that won't be possible, I think you should discuss it with your client and get back to me" he said as he stood up and buttoned his suit giving and end to the meeting. His patronizing tone bothered me so much but I wouldn't let him see that, Ms. Pope stood up and walked out of the conference room with a polite smile on her face
"Goodbye Ms. Lewis hope to hear from you soon" he said as he walked out, well that ended quicker than expected I thought to myself
