It was 4:30 at the office and I was very stressed. Even though my morning had started in a very relaxed and pleasurable way I was up to my neck in work by now. My assistant rang the intercom to let me know my meeting with Harvey was at 5 and I have to say a little bug of excitement started dancing in my stomach.
The purpose of the meeting was to finalize the merger, both of our clients were supposed to come to the meeting and most of it was just a formality. Also I couldn't help but be somewhat intrigued by how Harvey and I would act in a professional scenario after the events of the night before and morning after. I was sure he would be professional, as would I but I was intrigued by observing how the dynamic would change.(...)
I straightened my suit and walked along side my client to the conference room.
Harvey and Ms. Pope were already there. While I was sporting a lavender skirt and blazer she was wearing cream suit pants with the matching jacket and Harvey was looking great in the navy suit I had seen him in this morning. I pulled the glass door and entered the room with confidence."Hello Ms. Pope and Mr. Specter I'm glad to see you both under such positive circumstances" I said as I pulled a chair on the opposite side of the table and sat down while handing Harvey the final signing papers for him to go over with his client.
"I'm glad everything went smoothly" said Ms. Pope with a commanding tone to the room I could feel she was going to be a good CEO of the new company. She had charisma, class and most of all the brains to manage such a big corporation and I wished her all the best.
"Well Ms. Lewis now that everything is mostly done, we should leave our clients to get to know each other and we can file the last paperwork" Harvey said as he stood up from the chair and buttoned the jacket of his suit, that comment caught me off guard there was no need to file paperwork. That could be done by my assistant but I quickly caught on to what he really wanted to do and I was up for a little game that late afternoon.
"Sure let's head to my office" I said while straightening my blazer "you two" I said while looking at both clients "play nice and all the very best for you in this new venture" I walked in front of Harvey and exited the conference room. As I walked in front of him towards my office I could feel his eyes trailing my body I entered my office, walked towards my desk and heard the door shutting behind me.
"That paperwork excuse sure was smooth Harvey" I said in a little mocking tone "did you really want me that bad you couldn't come up with something better?"
"They know nothing, for all they care I could've said we were going to jog in the park and they would still be clueless" he said while turning to me after shutting the door to my office
"You underestimate people"
"I don't underestimate you" damn he was good not only with his actions but also with his words
"You better not, it would be dangerous to do so" I said calmly in a low voice while leaning against my desk
"I don't mind the right kind of danger Ms.Lewis" he walked over to where I was and stood very close to my face while our eyes met each other, neither of us was going to look away.
That's always been a thing for me you know? Holding a gaze, it shows power and that you're not afraid or intimidated by that person so I sure wasn't going to break eye contact with Harvey. He was very exciting to me, not only physically but mentally; I loved being challenged in every way.
"Well Mr. Specter that right kind of danger is hard to find"
"I think you meet that criteria"
"I'm sure I do but" I said while I moved my face slowly closer to him "I am a very busy woman and my time is precious"
"As is mine" our breaths met
"So if you excuse me my 6 o'clock appointment should already be here" I placed both my hands on his chest, the warmth of his body seeped through his shirt. I liked to play a little and I'm sure Harvey would enjoy it too. I pushed him lightly, moved towards the door and opened it.
"So you're kicking me out?" he had a mixed expression of surprise and amusement on his face
"I told you I'm very busy" I said while smiling
"I imagined you would be busy doing something else" he smirked and fixed his sleeves
"Funny thing, you think the world and every person on it revolves around you"
"Most of the time it does" he walked over to the door where I was standing
"Glad to burst your bubble" I stood besides the door leaving the path of exit free for Harvey to leave
"Goodbye Ms.Lewis" he said as he inched his face close to me and gave me a quick kiss on the cheek that took me by surprise, his slightly rough skin on my cheek sent a small shiver down my spine as his cologne tingled my nose "we will see each other soon"
"Looking forward to hearing from you" he walked away as I closed the door and sat at my desk while throwing my head back into the chair.
I couldn't believe I had basically rejected Harvey Specter just to see his reaction and to mess with him. I could feel my body wanting to inch forward to kiss him and let things go from there. The physical attraction was definitely there and by our quick exchange of words I could see he had a certain educated cockiness that attracted me to no end, made me want to know him more. Even though I was sure that night/morning was a one time thing, I was proved wrong and I was willing to see where this game went.
