The morning light peaking through a corner of the window made my eyes sensitive as I started waking up. Immediately remembering the night before, I quickly turned my gaze to find Harvey next to me still sleeping, a small smile unintentionally formed on my lips. I didn't want to wake him up so I walked in silence to my closet to grab a robe so I could cover myself up, I quickly picked my outfit for the day and entered the bathroom to take a shower.
After about 20 minutes of relaxing shower time I closed the water and started drying off, I couldn't hear anything that was happening outside the bathroom so I imagined Harvey was still asleep. "I told you you would be exhausted from the night before" , I thought to myself while giggling a little and finishing getting dressed.
As I walked out of the bathroom I peeked at my bed to see Harvey as expected still fast asleep so I proceeded to put on some light makeup and brush my hair. Once I was done I looked at the time on my phone 7:45 I was just on time. I grabbed a bigger purse since today was going to be a busy day and went into the kitchen so I could grab a quick bite to eat before leaving. I prepared myself some coffee and had a toast to calm my hunger. I wasn't lying when I said I had an early morning, I was helping my friend Marie Andersen buy some things for the baby and for her too maybe even something for me...who am I kidding we were going shopping for baby stuff and non baby stuff it was the perfect way to spend my Sunday
While lost in my own thoughts thinking about how much traffic there would be I heard Harvey's groggy deep voice in the background.
"Morning" he said standing at the door of the kitchen with his boxers and nothing else on
"Sleeping beauty has awoken" I laughed a little "I told you I was going to leave you exhausted" I said finishing up my coffee
"I think by the way you screamed last night you enjoyed how exhausted you left me" he joined me in the kitchen and poured himself a cup of coffee
"I told you I had an early morning" I couldn't help but blush at his comment as I attempted to change the subject
"Right, what are you doing?"
"Meeting a friend to do some shopping"
"Sounds thrilling" the sarcasm poured out of his mouth
"Yeah so I better get going" I walked towards the counter were I had left my purse and keys "I guess I'll see you..." before I could finish that sentence I felt Harvey's hands wrap around my waist bringing me closer to him, even though it was fairly cold in the apartment his skin felt warm against me
"You're leaving just like that?"he whispered in my ear with a clear intention in his voice
"Yes just like that I have things to do" I tried to sneak out of his arms but he tightened his grip pushing me closer to him
"I think you have time for a small pleasurable delay in your schedule" his voice sent a shiver down my spine
"What would that be?" I was already lost in the moment, there was no way I was leaving my apartment in the next 30 minutes
"You can call it the right start to your day" without realizing it we had walked over to the doorway of my bedroom

"I'm so sorry I'm late" I entered Bergdorf's in a hurried state as I approached a pregnant Marie and kissed her on the cheek
"I was calling you to see if you had been murdered... you're never late" she responded in an amused and surprised tone
"I know I'm sorry something came up"
"On a Sunday morning?" she raised an eyebrow
"Yes Marie" I cracked a smile and turned my back to her to look at a dress on a mannequin
"What's his name?" she asked unbothered giving her attention to a pair of shoes "my feet are so swollen I can't believe my heels won't fit me anymore"
"That's the perfect excuse to buy new ones" I didn't want to respond to her question
"It is that's why we're here" she said while sitting down to try on a pair of Manolos "I'm still waiting on the name Amelia"
Even though I didn't really feel like talking about it with Marie there was no point in trying to avoid it, she was going to get the information out of me one way or another
"Harvey"
"From work?"
"Kinda"
"Is he hot?" I laughed
"Yeah"
"Is it serious?"
"Um..I don't know...I don't think so"
"Why?"
"Well you know the type ladies man, always busy blah blah blah plus I'm younger than him"
"Oh god is he in his 60s or something?" she sounded worried
"No no no he's not that old.. like 30s"
"Got it...well just be careful"
"I always am"

Without really noticing it was already 6, we were exhausted but it had been a very productive shopping trip, we got things for the baby and for us but my feet and my wallet were hurting after all the damage so it was time to say goodbye and prepare myself for a busy work week. After getting home and getting into my PJ's I skimmed through my emails and agenda for the coming week. While lying on the bed Harvey popped into my head, the events of the night before and the morning after came back to me and I couldn't help but wonder what would happen.
I am not the sentimental type and I knew of Harvey's reputation all too well he goes through women like he goes through ties so I wasn't really getting my hopes up that anything would come out of our encounters and after all we would cross paths in life many more times and we had to keep it professional, speaking of which, we actually had a meeting planned for the end of the week for a new client of mine receiving a settlement proposal and on the other side of the table Harvey was the opposing counsel so it was sure to be an interesting meeting.
