Chapter 23

"Donna can I speak to Harvey?" I said while I leaned towards her desk 

"Sure go right ahead" she pointed me towards the door

"Thank you"  I walked over to the heavy door and pushed it open to find Harvey diligently working on his laptop 

"Oh look it's only been a couple of hours and you already can't stay away from me" he stopped working on his laptop and relaxed his back on the chair

"Very funny but I am here on official business" I stood firmly in front of his desk

"Sit" he said authoritatively

"I will be working with you on Logan Sanders" I said confidently

"He's my client" he sounded irritated

"And I know that but Jessica wants me working on this with you and I will" he scuffed at my mention of Jessica knowing he would have no other choice but to comply "so now that you know that I want to know what he wants"

"He wants to take over Gillies Industries"

"That explains why he has been buying more stock there"

"Wrong he has been buying more stock but not to do a gradual takeover which is what you were thinking"

"That's why I'm asking what he wants" I did not enjoy his patronizing remarks

"Hostile takeover"

"Impossible he doesn't have to power to strong arm them yet"

"Which is why we are doing a tender offer"

"That would ruin the element of surprise that a hostile takeover requires" I leaned back on the chair and crossed my legs

"Yes but considering that there is a competitor who is willing to make a better offer we need to move up our timeline and that requires making a tender offer" he sounded cold and serious

"Ok when's the next meeting?" I asked a little annoyed 

"Day after tomorrow at 11"

"Got it I'll start reading up on the competitor" I stood up given this meeting was pretty much over

"Don't bother I already have Mike on that"

"Fine then I'll find what Gillies Industries weak point is" I turned my back to Harvey heading for the door

"Why would you do that?"

"Wait and see" I said without turning to face him

I arrived Wednesday morning to the office wearing a red A-Line dress with black So Kate's I made my way into my office to leave my coat and immediately started working on the final touches for the Sanders meeting. 

Today was the day I was meeting him for the first time, the cocky playboy that had inherited the multimillion dollar company overnight. I had done some research and I had a feeling Harvey and him would have to adjust to each other to put it lightly. 

Half an hour before the meeting, I gathered my paperwork and walked into Harvey's office taking advantage of the fact that Donna was off somewhere else.

"What's the situation with Logan Sanders?" I asked as I entered the room taking Harvey by surprise who was busy texting on his phone

"I thought I was pretty clear, he wants to take over Gillies Industries" he said without diverting his eyes from the phone

"I meant do you two get along?" I said as I sat on the chair in front of his desk reclining my back against the black leather seat and crossing my legs
