I spun the blade in my hand. It was more perfect than I could ever imagine. Light, beautiful, magical and powerful.

Kaden told me that they had found a witch that hated wolves as much as us. She had bewitched the stone used to make the blade. It gave them unbearable pain, stopped them from healing and as I learnt yesterday whilst watching the beta, gave them agonizing hallucinations.

"Mina, Mina! Please don't close your eyes. No! Stay with me, Mina" I was watching live feed of the beta's security cameras. He was sitting in the middle, his shoulders hunched forward sobbing over 'Mina'. His mate, no doubt.

Mate, something about werewolves having a person that was destined for them. There was no greater love than mate love. This gave us an advantage. Kill one half of a mate bond and the other one'll go mad.

Two birds, one stone.

I closed my phone just as Nora walked through the door. We shared this dorm room together, no matter how high I was in the Hunter's Society, my special privileges stopped before they could get me a single room. When you share a room together, you're most likely going to be hunter buddies. Which was not the case for Nora and I, thank god. The founder's usually got paired together, so even though I would get a much stronger partner than Nora, I would get the person I hated almost more than werewolves.

Joseph Forvatore.

"Riley Heaves' birthday party is today, you coming?" Nora said. Of course, usually when it was someone's birthday, they would book one of the clubs at the city, it was an excuse for the kids at the academy to go and let their hair down. Nora definitely took parties seriously. She made sure each party she went to, that she would be remembered. So right now, her body was squeezed into red tube dress.

"I think I will come" I said. I mean, I hadn't gotten drunk in ages. Work hard, play hard.

"Really?" She shrieked. I slid off my bed and went to my wardrobe.

"But I might be late"

"Of course, see ya there" She skipped off. Throwing my blade onto my bed, I turned to my clothes. I pulled out one of my dresses. Black, tiny, tight, perfect for a night off. I put on some mascara and ruby red lipstick. Just as I was about to leave, I decided to put on my leather thigh holster. I slipped my blade into it. I would taken my gun but it would make way too much noise if I was too use it. Besides, I had my blade and my silver jewellery.

I went down the stairs of the castle/huge mansion. The place was originally The Rolands, but they donated to the Hunter's Society to teach young minds of the monsters regular humans believe to be fiction.

As I got to the bottom, my eyes met sparkling brown ones.

"Dante!" I called in delight. He turned at the sound of my voice.

"Babe, you look amazing. Haven't seen you since you left that morning" He put on a fake pout and I laughed.

"You don't need to tell me I look amazing" I said. Dante Fuller, my best guy friend. Yes, I had friends. He was the guy everyone knew. Friends with everyone, charming, kind. Too bad he didn't have a girlfriend.

"Well, if it isn't the Ice Queen herself" I scowled at Jake's figure.

"Well if it isn't the world's number one douche" My scowl turned into a smile as he gave me a hug.

"That was your worst insult yet" He commented.

"Oh yes, cause 'ice queen' was soo original" And then there was Jake Mabry, Dante's best friend. We were friends, very close friends. In fact, my other friends referred to us as two peas in a pod.
