"Ellie"

I ignore the pest and continue to swing the blade around.

"Look, Ellie. I know you're angry. You don't need to blame yourself" The nerve of this guy.

"I don't blame myself? I have no reason to blame myself" I say, still refusing to meet Joseph's pest-like eyes. Which was nothing short of a lie. The fact was, Joseph Forvatore was the most attractive guy in this academy. Most attractive by far. Too bad his personality spoils his looks.

"I-I don-" He began to stutter. Coward, he couldn't even talk properly.

"I just thought. I thought because if you had moved a slightly bit quicker, maybe Jake would still be ali-" He didn't get to finish his sentence because I had already spun around and scratched skin off his left arm with my blade. He shrieked in pain as blood began flowing all around us. I drop the knife and swing my fist to his nose. His nose makes a crunching noise as it makes contact with my hand. He steps back, still trying to cover the cut in order to stop the bleeding.

"What the F*ck is wrong with you!" I jump onto him, causing us to topple onto the floor. Stuff being calm and sensible with your movements. Stuff the 'don't let your emotions fuel your attack' rule. All I could think as my fist rained down onto Joseph was white blinding anger.

"How dare you think I blame myself? I blame you! If you hadn't gotten drunk, or maybe if you hadn't cowered in the corner leaving me to take care of all the wolves then he would still be alive. His death is all on you. You're a murderer! A cold-blooded murderer" I shout at him. People begin to try to pull me off him but I've latched myself onto him. How dare he walk around when it's his fault two people we're taken from their families! Two people who would've had futures, now lying in the ground to rot.

"Don't touch me!" I spit at the people around me. Half satisfied at the bloody mess of a human in front of me, I stand up and brush myself off. I grab my blade, ignore everyone's looks and walk right out.

I consider walking to my dorm but change my mind as soon as I hear Nora's voice. I turn and head to the labs. I just want to kill something. I want to hold something in my hands and watch the life leave it. I want to see blood all over my hands. Like an instinct in the back of my mind just telling me to kill. I clench my fists as I see Kaden. He smiles. My fingers rub over the 6 fresh tattoos on my neck, now spreading to the top of my shoulders.

"I was wondering when I'd see you" He said before examining the blade in my hands.

"Do you like it?" He asks, peering down at me from his glasses.

"I love it" I say flatly.

He gives me a wider smile. "Just as I expected" He swings his chair back to his table.

"Are there any wolves you'd like to get rid of?" I ask casually as I lift one of the files from his desk and examine it.

I get the name Faye before it's snatched from my hands.

"That's classified" He says as he places the folder in one of his drawers. That only makes me want it more. The feeling in my fingers begin to itch. I want it. I want the folder now!

I hear commotion from the white rooms and look up to see the scientists scream as something fled from the rooms. I grab the blade and try and take a proper aim. For a split second, the wolf stops and I see it clearly.

A girl, no older then 17. She looks so small and skinny. Her skin, a ghostly pale. Her eyes though, they were glowing green. As were the claws that had sprouted from her finger nails. To add to this bizarre thing, she had her canines extended. Something I was so sure wolves could not do.

And for the first time in a long time, I felt fear. A shiver went down my spine. What was this thing?

And then the moment ends and as an instinct, I hurl the blade with precision at the girl. Gasps explode from the room. My eyes widen in horror and I take a step back.

The blade is a cm from her nose, just suspended in mid air. It stays there for a moment before clattering to the floor. Kaden takes a few steps back as the girl takes steps closer to him. I walk up to her and she just looks at me and I'm immobilized.

My minds at a blank as I watch her wrap her hands around Kaden's throat. One minutes, the fury in her glowing eyes is blinding. Next, she lets go of him with nothing but calmness and just walks out.

And we all just watch her.

                \\\

"If you expect an apology, I can assure you, you're not going to get one" I say stubbornly as I press my back against the seat. Joseph gives me a glance. I turn to him and stick my tongue out like a child.

"Elliana!" Mrs Roland says outraged. She looks at the two if us before rubbing the bridge of her pointy nose.

3...2..1

"You two are the descendants of the founders. You have to set a good example! And yet here we are because Elliana attempted to cut off Josephs hand. Elliana, explain to me how someone can continue to be a hunter after their hand has been cut off?" She explodes just as I had expected. I bit the urge to roll my eyes.

"I didn't try to cut his hand off. If I wanted to, I could've. I don't miss and you know that." I say whilst looking at my nails. Clearly showing my disinterest in this repeated conversation.

"I mean, shouldn't we be talking about that magical-wolf thing that escaped our labs?" I add as an afterthought.

"That is the schools issue. Even as a founding family, you are not yet entitled to that information" She says embarrassed. Probably from the fact that our state of the art facility couldn't even keep a teenage wolf from escaping.

"But that is not the reason I've called you here today" She says with a sigh before pulling out the same file Kaden had and handing it to me. I quickly opened it to see a woman smiling back at me. She had kind eyes and a contagious smile. She was beautiful, not in a attractive way. Just the way she looks would attract people. I don't know how to explain it. I wouldn't of guessed she was a wolf.

Faye Blakk, Luna of SilverBlood.

Geez, what an uncreative last name.

"As you are the founding families, you will be given separate tasks. This will be your first one. Faye Blakk. We've made a deal with some wolves and in exchange of taking her, they will provide us with other wolves for experimenting" She says.

"We're working with wolves?!" Joseph says with his mouth wide.

"Just this once" She states quickly.

"We shouldn't be working with them. The whole point of hunters is to kill wolves and here you are working with them" I say angrily.

"Sacrifices must be made, as I know you know, Elliana." She says. I quiet down at the jab. Regret flashes through her eyes as she sighs, yet again.

"We can't kill wolves unless we know all their abilities. The recent outbreak obviously means our research is outdated. As much as I hate it, these wolves are the only way to extinction"

"Now get suited up and ready. And for gods sake, make sure to work together. Make sure Faye is in this office by Wednesday. I'll give you all tomorrow to plan and study the pack." She shoos us away.

Get ready Faye, we're about to rip you from your fantasy and bring you back to reality. Cold, hard, painful
